It takes a lot for me to leave a bad review, but I feel this one is necessary. To start off, I booked the massage online. I chose the option of "$76/couple massage". I get to my appointment about 20 minutes early. I check in telling them my phone number. The front desk lady proceeds to tell me that the massage will be $100 for the both of us. I told her about the special/option I chose online and she says that's for members only. I argued that if that was the case, why did it allow me to choose that option? No where on their appointment page does it say anything about being a member. There was also a flyer at the front of the Spa showing this special as well-- again it does not say anything about having to be a member to receive this special.
She pushes trying to get me to sign up for a membership after I countlessly told her I'm not interested. This Spa is very far from me and the only reason I came was because of this great deal. After arguing with her for about 5 minutes, my girlfriend and I began to walk out the door as we were no longer interested in paying the price they were offering. I could've gone to any other spa/massage place with those same rates. She stops us and says she will allow the $76 special. So I thought, okay great! Super appreciative, even though she continued to give me attitude. I paid for the massages and she asked me how much I would be adding for tip after the massage. Idk about you guys, but I tip based on experience so it was odd that they asked me in the beginning before the massage.
So we get called back to our full body massage. The massage itself was alright. It felt very rushed, and they did not do our arms/feet/head. The lady massaging me also kept checking her phone constantly. If it were to check the time, they should just add a clock or timer in the room. It seemed very unprofessional. Anyways, at the end of the massage, they asked me and my girlfriend if we would like tea or water. We denied the offer and said we have water in our car.
After getting dressed, they still offered us the tea and said "here's the green tea, it's free." Okay, sure. I started drinking my tea and the lady that gave me the massage asked if I was paying for the tip cash or card. Once I said card, she rushed me and told me to put my tea down so I could grab the tip. And as I'm reaching into my wallet, she's literally standing right in front of me and staring into my wallet. I gave her the tip for both of them and she LITERALLY begged for more money. She said, "Please we work very hard" which I completely understand. I felt like I was giving a generous tip. Then the guy that gave my girlfriend a massage said "yeah you’re the last massage of the night and we gave you tea!" .... which is free and we didn't ask for it. So feeling pressured because they're begging and the fact that she's staring at the cash in my wallet, I gave them more money. Even then, she continued to ask for more!! I've never felt so uncomfortable.
I then looked up the standard hospitality rate for massage tipping because I thought maybe I was offending them, which I didn’t want to do. But after doing so, I realized I tipped them more than what the standard rate is. Which is 20% and I gave them more than that. So I don’t appreciate them making me feel pressured to tip them more. I would give them 0...
Read moreFalse advertisement. 2/$88 couples massage is not accurate. I called and asked if they would honor the promotion on their website, and they said, "Come on in and show me," as if it would not be an issue. Management knows exactly what they are doing. For $20/annually, you have to be already be a member to get the 2/$88 pricing. Nowhere on the outside signage, website does it mention that it is existing member pricing. The catch is, you sign up for a membership and you get the advertised pricing the NEXT VISIT. After arguing about the pricing I said, " Fine, sign me up and give me the member pricing". The front desk warden said, "you don't get the pricing until your first visit". Then why am I even signing up? So we paid 68+68=$136 for a couples massage. Secondly, there is no way my person was licensed. It was the worst massage I've ever had. I dont expect a strip spa experience, but a decent massage for $68 should be expected. I've had better $20 reflexology massages then this. Neither of our feet were massaged, and it started off weird. The massage person gently touched my entire body in a random manner. I assumed I would doze off as I do with any decent massage, but no, I couldn't fully relax because of the techniques and cold wet towels used. I instructed her not to massage my lower back /tailbone area due to a fracture, but she repeatedly did. Thirdly, I tip according to service. I wasn't satisfied. Once she saw my tip was not what she expected, she followed my friend and I out to the lobby and requested an additional tip. Even suggested to take additional tip off our credit card. It's been explained to me before by a person that understands the business model. They get foreign workers on visas, pay them nothing in exchange for work visas and then expect them to live off tips. I'm not saying this is the case, but I've never been followed out of a spa regarding a tip.
Lastly, upon arrival, this place was rated 3.9, three hours later they have a 4.2 rating. **After carefully looking, they have two google accounts, same address, but different suite. My review is repeated for both accounts. This business has two Google names, but this is one door, one operator. They are in a strip mall and have mutiple suites, but one entrance.
I will not...
Read more‼️‼️DO NOT COME HERE‼️‼️ READ THE BAD REVIEWS!!!!!!!!!!! Husband and I just left. We hadn't been here since before covid. I'm extremely disappointed with this place, I will never return. All of the reviews that say they demand a certain tip amount is true. I gave each masseuse $12 cash but they demanded at least $20 each and said if I didn't have enough cash I could pay with a card. I must've looked confused because I was. I was confused as to why she was demanding us to tip more. So then she gets one of the brochures that they have at the front desk and points to where it says that a $15-$20 tip is recommended for a one hour massage. I actually was confused at this point because again it says RECOMMENDED not required. Ok so for starters I am not cheap. I tip very well especially when I feel like it was earned. I even tip when the service isn't very good. That's why I tipped $12 because although the service was not good I still wanted to leave something. But then when they demanded $20 I got mad because I don't feel that they deserved that much. Not only that, they were they still holding onto the cash while demanding a $20 tip on my card. So I said fine to giving them their $20 each that they demanded just to get out of there but I asked for the cash back first. She gave it back to me but she made it clear that she was pissed that I didn't let them keep that on top of the $40. She handed the cash back to me very aggressively like almost slammed it in my hand so it was obvious she got mad. And the reason I feel like she didn't deserve that much is because the massage was not good. I read a review that described her massage as the kind one would get from a tired spouse. That was spot on. I told my husband afterwards that I rub lotion on myself harder than what she was doing. My husband said that his masseuse was light handed as well. So neither of them earned that $20 that they each got but whatever. I will never go here again. I don't normally wish misfortune onto anyone but this was beyond unprofessional and such a bad experience and based on the reviews this has been going on for quite a while. I'll be surprised if they don't go out...
