This review is a couple weeks late, but I have not forgotten about my experience at ShiKi Spa and Massage. I had an hour and a half massage with Ding. I have had over a hundred massages and have tried many styles and combination of styles of massages - Swedish, Deep Tissue, Shiatsu, Lomi Lomi, Thai, Chiropractic, some over clothes, some with oil, some that incorporate cupping, acupuncture, or hot stones. As someone in their early 30s who builds a tremendous amount of tension in the shoulder area when stressed (I mean my shoulders are like rocks) and who is fairly physically active, I pay great attention to a masseuse’s ability to apply a great amount of pressure, but also notice their ability to sense where tension is and properly massage your muscles — i.e. warming the body up and not immediately digging elbows into you, and also sensing where your tension lies and appropriately massaging your muscles and not your bones, and also taking that a step further by massaging into your deeper tissue layers. Ding worked really diligently and did an amazing job of working through the layers of tension I have built up, with consistent high levels of pressure, and had a great intuition about which areas needed more attention. ShiKi Spa and Massage was very accommodating, staying open to fit me into their schedule. They texted later in the day to confirm my appointment and were very quick to respond to my questions. They offered bottled water at the end of the service and waited to close until my uber arrived. I was in town for just a few days, but scheduled a second appointment with Ding. Their prices are great and well worth the massage. If I’m ever passing through again, I will definitely be making a stop....
Read moreI don’t know how in the Hates you 2000+ people can leave anything positive about this place. I have been to many massage places including holes in the wall; I have never been so disappointed in my life. Rather than venting and expressing my discontent, I will simply list what the issues were….. #1 zero air flow in this facility or the massage rooms; it is 100+ degrees outside at least have some fans going to circulate the air. #2 no sheet to cover up with. You have curtains over the open doors and no privacy. We are supposed to get naked and lay down on a non padded table face down and a small hand towel covering our lady bits??? #3 no conversation with the client regarding problem areas or pressure. I have extreme injuries that I get massaged to make my body more flexible and fluent, but for the 2 minutes this man had his hands on me, I can’t control the shaking due to the pushing; not rubbing but pushing on my back. #4 as I said, zero air flow; keep pushing the clients head down into the face guard on the table??? I kept pulling my head up to get air and he kept pushing me down then every 2 seconds say “you okay?” I spoke up to say I am done and want a refund, he still kept being aggressive and pushing my head down. When the lady at the front came in where I was trying to get clothed, tried to downgrade our couples massages to basic foot massages. No! I AM NOT OKAY! Even if this is a traditional massage according to your methods, it is wrong! I have half the mind to report them to see if these “therapists” are actually even licensed. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A ZENFUL PLACE TO RELAX AND REHABILITATE WITH SOME SELF LOVE AND CARE I URGE YOU TO FIND...
Read moreSecond time here and still had a similar experience so I am sharing. 1. Booked my appt online for two services, 1 hour for foot $50 and 1 hour for body $55 for each person, making it a total of $105. When we arrived, they assumed each package belong to a person and would not let us combine, although the online prices were correct during the selection and confirmation. They tried to charge us for whole body combo instead at $120 each person. We decided to only do foot, because it rubbed us the wrong way. 2. They started off by placing us on these folding chairs that were way too long, so I had to lay down awkwardly in hopes my foot would get into the tub they brought. I finally asked for a pillow for support and it felt better. 3. Start time was a little later. We arrived at 455pm for our 5pm massage. Ended going into the back room at 507pm. Soaked our feet from 512pm. Massage started at 517. Ended at 610. 4. My therapist kept falling asleep while she was working on my foot. 5. My boyfriend fell asleep for part of massage and his massage therapist literally stopped until I took my towel off my face to watch. 6. They kept talking to each other in mandarin and at some point called my man a "big person." We found that disrespectful since he spoke mandarin.
Due to these reasons,I will go somewhere else next time. There are so many places along the same road. It's sad that this one had such high reviews and the experience did...
