The employees at this store are friendly, but many seem to not have had very much training. They keep having to say "let me go check with the manager" when they can't answer questions. (Many simple questions.) Very sad that customers have to wait and then keep waiting, while the sales people have to go keep asking someone else for the answers. Some of the sales staff seem to just answer with their best guess, then later we found out that the information we were given was false. Calling the website number (Tulsa) and getting the main office staff was the only way we got accurate answers/information. Just two examples of problems - the scam of the mandatory membership in Mathis Home's program for free shipping and a fabric having been discontinued that wasn't. See Yelp reviews for the kinds of problems so many other people have had with this location.
Part 2: Two months ago - 2/27/25 - I replied to the email below that was provided. Today is 4/29/25 and there has been ZERO response via email. I had hoped to go over the other various issues we experienced with the Tulsa management directly, instead of posting here. But, here goes. (It looks like they only want to reply via the google reviews to make it look good to a group, but don't want to reply to someone that doesn't give them widespread exposure?) When we were buying the chair we asked if we would be able to check it out when it was delivered, just in case there was anything wrong with it. "NO, you can't do that. You can return it if there is something wrong with it." After unwrapping the chair, we discovered that the back of it was overstuffed - very overstuffed. It was extremely bulgy in the middle and was not anything like the floor model chair that was chosen. At the store, we were assured that all the chairs in that model were exactly the same as the floor model. NOT EVEN!!! In the phone calls & emails about this (with the Tulsa office) we learned that we could take the chair back to the Tulsa location, but NOT the Springdale location. They could not let any return be dropped off in Springdale. So, it would be up to two senior citizens to load and unload a heavy and clunky chair - if we had something that it could fit in. If not, we could rent something to haul the chair to Tulsa. (1.5 hrs one way to Tulsa.) If we couldn't manage the weight and awkward size of the chair pieces, we could hire someone to do the labor for us. They would not send anyone to pick it up. They were willing to exchange the back of the chair with another one from the 10 or so same chairs currently in the warehouse and we could try each out to find one that wasn't overstuffed and was comfortable. (However, we were assured that all the chairs were made the same and were like the one in the showroom.) All at our own expense. If there wasn't an acceptable back for the chair, we were welcome to return in . . . But, at a 30% loss of the cost of the chair!!!! WTF - buy a chair for $1,200+, then get scammed that the membership was required, then receive a chair that was NOT like the floor model, then pay gas, tolls, truck rental & labor to get the chair to Tulsa - for the good possibility that none of the other chair backs were like the floor model and then only get an $840-ish refund??? To lose $600+ (chair price difference, gas, rental, labor) because of the horrible customer service and end up with NO chair??? The only thing this company did was refund the $139 for the fraudulent "membership" from the Springdale location's sales scam. Originally I gave two stars, because of one or two good staff. If Google had ZERO stars, that would be what this was changed to. We need another new recliner - but, we will NOT be buying a Lazy Boy, nor any other product from Mathis. Buyers beware - senior citizens be EXTRA cautious. They love your money, but not...

I suppose this was only a ploy to the public to make the company seem "concerned" about every bad review. I can assure you, they could care less. My dad was out $253 and still had no chair. Again, despicable. Maybe the Attorney General needs to be clued in on this company's fraudulent and deceptive trade practice. BUYER BEWARE.
This company has ZERO customer service, much less a moral conscience. My sister and I found a recliner for my dad on closeout. We were hoping to take the recliner with us, but learned it had to come from their Tulsa store. Really....a closeout??!! They did a drop off at the door. My dad has dementia and was having trouble reaching the lever to recline but thought he would adapt. A couple of days later, the nurse at his assisted living facility called to tell us they found my father on the floor because he could not get out of it and they removed it from his room. So back to the store we went. The ladies in the office were unbelievably rude, especially the manager. We could not simply return the chair to Springdale. Oh no...it had to be Tulsa! Furthermore, they informed us we would have to pay a $250 restocking fee!!!! Something our salesperson failed to mention because we had purchased this over the phone with him. My dad is on Medicare/Medicaid and could barely afford this chair in the first place. Now they want more than one-half of the price of the chair to return it???!!! Absurd. I tried calling multiple times their so-called customer service number in Oklahoma City and even Tulsa. NOT ONE PERSON EVER CALLED ME BACK. They did promptly pick up the chair, but ironically, a month later there was still no credit to my dad's account until I CALLED THEM. These people are despicable. P.S...They along with Ashley Furniture are now owned by Mathis...
Read moreDo not do a special order! I ordered a sectional. To say it was a nightmare is a understatement. The initial delivery was late, they ended up delivering the wrong pieces. I called and they said it would be taken care of, after waiting weeks they delivered the same exact wrong pieces. After a month went by I decided to call and check on a delivery date only to find out that hadn't even put in a correction. The manager promised me $800 dollars off, which was a lie. So after 3 delivery's and 6mos later I finally got my sectional. To top things off, when they delivered the first time they did not have the proper tools to put the sectional together. I had to provide those. The third delivery they tried to make my son put it together. So unless you want very poor customer service, lied to, and live with a partial order for months, I wouldn't recommend lazy boy. Again, you have your facts wrong. But that doesn't surprise me. You have someone sitting behind a desk who can reply to these reviews within minutes, but when I needed help I could not get it. I had to personally go down to the office, waste my time when I should have been doing other things. I did file a complaint and I did stop payment on my card. It was only then that they offered me 800 off my purchase. I don't appreciate being told otherwise. That's an insult to my intelligence. I only wish I had proof because if I did you would find yourself in a lawsuit. Honestly, it isn't the money, I have plenty. It's the fact that you continue to do this to people without a care. Your reply 's to these reviews make it seem like you really care, we both know you dont. Your manager in the springdale store should be fired, your whole company needs shut down in my honest opinion. I only hope you read these reviews and actually see how poorly your business is ran. Good luck to you, I will never step foot into a lazy boy store again, and I will definitely spread the word for others not to do...
