For starters, we called the day before our arrival to inform them we are driving out of state and if there was any way we could check in a little before our check in time. Front desk lady was overwhelmed and rude and told us it was unlikely but call again tomorrow at 1 (1 was when we planned to arrive so not much help..) we called late morning the day of, and they were much nicer and said no problem checking in early. The room we had was definitely NOT up to par especially for a Hilton. The room smelled like dirty feet/wet socks. The lights in the bathroom were very dim and some even needing to be replaced. There was rust in the shower, busted up door, half of the outlets didn’t work, the air conditioning blew warm/cool muggy air and never got cool....need I say more....our quoted rate was $90.25 & tax $12.64 total $102.88. When we got here the charge was $118.34. We didn’t think anything at first because she said breakfast was available so we assumed maybe the extra charge was that. The next morning my daughter and I called to see when they stop serving breakfast and the lady told us 9:30 AM. We walked down there to make a plate and were told it was going to be a nine dollar charge per plate....when I explained we were never told otherwise even when calling the morning of, they proceed to argue that the verbiage was “breakfast available” not “breakfast included”. We then complained about the issues in the room and everything mentioned above to a very unsympathetic front desk receptionist who insured us that was not what their rooms look like that she has stayed here for a month and that does not sound like their hotel and even laughed when we told her they were not up to par. After showing her the pictures she acted like she was surprised and said she would talk to management (but nothing was truly resolved). Overall, horrible customer service and not as advertised. I have stayed in Microtel’s nicer than this place with superb customer service. Do not recommend, will...
Read moreWe chose this location for two reasons; the pool/hot tub and proximity to The Jones Center for hockey vs. the Razorbacks which our son was playing in and both of which are utilized in injury prevention and/recovery. Neither of these were in functioning order during our stay. Not one mention of that on the website updates. Their night auditors are not equipped to deal with guests who refuse to adhere to the noise ordinance whether it be televisions that are loud enough to be heard in the hallway until 6:30 a.m. or jacuzzis that are filled and jets used after midnight and again at 2:11 a.m. No need to call the front desk using the in room phone as it is not in working order. The one offer to move my family at 1:30 a.m. was not accepted as our children had finally fallen asleep. Was disappointed that the three other rooms were allowed to do what they did without repercussion.. The peeling wallpaper, chipped doors, loose and dangling outlets are just a few of the updates needed. The new sleeper sofas are an amazing improvement over the old pull out ones. Their front desk staff, Susan and Jacquelyn, although young, are very good at guest care and follow through. They just do not have the autonomy to make decisions. The housekeeping staff are above average. We saw the in action cleaning other rooms and saw them moving furniture, sweeping, vacuuming, and cleaning on top, bottom, and around. Very efficient and quick. Kudos to you ladies! Impressive, to say the least. We did hear back from the GM 3 days later in a lengthy email describing the challenges to her job that resulted in the amenities and room deficiencies. She did put 30,000 points in our HH account. A nice gesture which does not give you a night's stay in most of the properties. This experience was not what we expect from a Hilton property and the way it was all handled a huge...
Read morePros: Decent, clean, and spacious rooms, recently renovated.
Walking distance to several dining options (news flash, you will need dining options)
Easy access to the highway.
Plenty of free parking.
GREAT shower water pressure. If you're thin skinned I recommend not showering here.
The lobby restaurant is really good for the price. They actually seem to put some effort into the menu and deliver great service.
Cons: No hot tub, no sauna as advertised online. They were taken out during the renovations. Must have been a recent change, the photos online were updated during my stay to show no hot tub.
Sunday night the lobby restaurant is closed, unless you want drinks only. Do they communicate this??? Nope.
Can't use daily food and beverage credit on alcohol. Guess it's a "food" credit. But you can't use it for breakfast when they run out and can't use it on Sunday for dinner.
The highway. It's close. And loud. It sounds like the windows in the room are open but obviously they aren't.
Occupancy sensors on the thermostats. This is to ensure you have little to no climate control in your room.
Breakfast food runs out early. Good thing the road noise will wake you up early. Early bird gets the worm.
Oh and the legendary warm cookie at check in???? Try again they don't offer them to everyone.
The worst part about this property is the housekeeping staff do not respect privacy. Absolutely does not matter if you put your "Do not disturb" sign on your door, when they want to clean, they clean. I was there for 2 weeks and on 2 instances, they barged in with the do not disturb sign up. ZERO privacy allowed.
I've stayed at numerous Doubletree properties and this one widely misses the mark. Atleast the food is decent and will get...
