Update: This theater is in the process of being remodeled and they have upgraded all but the IMAX theater to reclining seats. They also added 6 Coca-Cola freestyle machines in the lobby before you head down the hallways. The only thing I would like to see added is a premium audio theater as well as an update to existing audio in the other theaters. AMC does have it neat in this front. But this theater has always been the cleaner one so they have earned my business back with this remodel. Kudos.
I used to love this cinema. In fact, I would go here exclusively. I usually see 3- 4 movies a month. More often in the summer and winter often seeing movies multiple times. However these days it is extremely outdated. EVERY other cinema in Cincinnati has leather reclining seats, and almost all have a bar, and the ability to take your drink into the theater. The AMC has everything I just mentioned plus a Dolby theater. The Cobb offers dinner at your seat while you watch the movie and in other theater there are seats that move with the movie called D-BOX. Even the cheaper cinema in Northgate mall Xscape has the leather reclining seats and a couple premium audio theaters. The Regals are also updated with better seats. Literally, I could name every cinema in Cincinnati and every one of them but Showcase has the leather reclining seats usually more stuff on top of that as well. While I would like to start going to showcase again I WILL not pay the same amount or even save 3-5 dollars per ticket for an inferior experience. When this cinema gets updated to the standards of the area I will be glad to return until then consider me a...
Read moreWent to see the 11a showing of Avengers: Endgame yesterday, bought our tickets & selected our seats via the kiosk when we walked in the door. Went to sit down, & there were people in our seats. When confronted, they said they bought their tickets & picked seats online. Since the theater wasnt at all crowded, we took the high ground, moved a row up, & once settled, I went to try to talk to the ticket taker lady - asked her to alert management. She looked & acted like she had no intention of doing so, & just nodded her head, & returned to her reclining position in her chair (honestly, I thought she was prepping to nap). She didnt ask could she call the manager to discuss, nothing. Barely acknowledged what I told her - and almost seemed like she wasnt listening. A few minutes later, a family comes in to sit in our row, & the dad turns into a real ashole. When we told him someone was in our seats, he kept loudly proclaiming "Not my problem!" And "You talk to the .managment". When I said "we already told the ticket person &t No one did anything, he got nasty again, & proclaimed "not my problem!"
Again, we took the high road & moved down 2 rows (no way anyone wanted to be near them). Someone needs to do something about the seating issue. Had it been a more crowded time, & more people were like that guy, there would have been some serious issues going on. Put a damper on the trip &...
Read moreNot too happy with my first visit back in years for the Rise of Skywalker on IMAX. The Dark Knight was the last movie I saw here....and maybe 3 times since 1994, since I moved out of town. I used to go here all the time as a kid. It's changed a LOT. One big change was the digital tickets on the app. You can't get printed tickets, which makes it a pain when you're in a group of 7 and someone wants drinks & popcorn and 2 have to go to the bathroom, and the rest are trying to get in the theater. and you all have to go in AT THE SAME TIME with the person who has the app on their phone! Many places scan the app and give you physical tickets. It is so much easier and you get a ticket stub to keep (I keep all of mine). Then the ticket scanning was not working right and going so slow that the guy just said, "just go on in" without scanning ours. We had 7 people over 2 orders on my app. So there was a huge line and slow scanner with a huge crowd. So maybe my second issue was because of that. The length of the trailers was ridiculous. 6pm movie and it stared going on 6:40. The extremely long TENET prologue was shown TWICE! The second time after "And Now The feature presentation!" No, we had to wait another 5 minutes after waiting 42 years, then a half an hour. Was it because they didn't have everyone in the theater? That's my guess. It's been years since I visited and probably will be...
