After spending $10,000 on New furniture in the McCready Showroom I am BEYOND unhappy with our Norwalk furniture, the customer service by both Kathleen, in sales, and Tom Smullen, customer servive. We were delivered a "recliner" on a swivel base, we never ordered. We have replaced the swivel on this HEAVY chair 3 times, it squeks as the chair rotates on the swivel, and graphite shavings have permanently discolored our new carpet. It was NEVER meant to be on a swivel..bit as Kathleen stated"this is what you ordered", no, not recliner!!! The casters on our ottoman have been replaced FOUR TIMES, and the factory stitching in the back of our teacup chair has unraveled...we have to.pay for repair!!! After REPEATED calls to Tom, with no reply, today he suggested we were "lying" about our attempts and voice mail messages left to call us .Our last wait for a return call re: fixing these pieces has been TWO MONTHS. I do not understand how a customer service rep can speak to a customer in this manner, derogatory, condescending, and accusatory. We just want our furniture repaired, to get what we paid for, and not have it cause more damage to our home. We bought a sectional..2 chairs, 2 end tables, a dining room table and chairs and 5 pieces of wall art. 10,000 we paid, saved for a long time, and now near retirement, left with these pieces of less than quality furniture , because"this is what you ordered". WE JUST WANT IT FIXED, make it right. Next step ........go higher
As for your response below I have kept all documentation also, in depth. . Your ending statement speaks volumes..."we have TRIED to make it right " after attempts"....BUT YOU HAVE NOT, since it was wrong from delivery. So yes our warranty expired, but the furniture was NEVER fixed before it expired!!!!!! This heavy "recliner" is pearched on a round pedestal swivel, and as you said it is "bad design", which has caused graphite shavings to damage the carpet underneath and makes a high pitched squeaking with the lesst bit of rotation, it's the THIRD ONE replaced, and still shavings and noise????. The stitching in the seam of OUR othet chair has unraveled, also a manufacture DEFECT. 10,000 dollars plus spent in you're store....and we are left with pieces that are less than quality. No EXCUSES MCCREADYS ..NONE. A rating of 1 is generous in our situation. ( I have pictures and videos of furniture defects, carpet damage, if you would like to see ) I have never , ever given a bad review, but we deserve to get what...
Read moreWe ended up at McCready’s after having a nightmare of an experience at a chain furniture store. Katherine helped us every step of the way. We walked in with a very set idea of what we wanted and instead walked out with something that made us far happier because of her. It’s hard buying furniture when there are so many design options, fabric options…but she listened to what we said, even if it didn’t always make the most straightforward sense, and found the right sectional and fabric for our needs and taste. The other important things are that this came in beautiful and perfect condition and two months is still in beautiful shape (our sectional from the chain store had issues that they didn’t want to resolve on day one).
The other important note is that their delivery men are just as amazing as Katherine was. When our sectional from the chain store was delivered (after it was delivered to the wrong house), they dropped it on the way in, then unceremoniously put it together and left with haste. The McCready’s delivery men took time and care to put it together right and explain to us how to disconnect and reconnect it. They changed the glides on the bottom for us from carpet to hardwood based on our floors. They made us feel like they actually cared about what they did.
I cannot say enough nice things about McCready’s or Katherine, or our sectional for that matter. I would highly recommend McCready’s as well as Norwalk furniture.
Our sectional is by Norwalk, it’s the Neptune. It’s two corners and an armless chair. The fabric is Hesse (it’s super soft and plush with a texture to it). The ottoman is...
Read moreFrom the time I walked into McCready Interiors / Norwalk to the actual delivery of my sectional couch, my experience has been nothing less than Five Star. Audrey Lunsford was exceptional in helping me zero in on the finding the exact sectional couch with a queen sleeper that I had been wanting. The fabric choices were wonderful. I found the perfect design along with the opportunity to order additional fabric to cover a small ottoman I already had to compliment my new sectional. McCready’s also offered and provided storage of the finished couch until I was able to take delivery. And speaking of delivery, the team of Kyle and Cory were so professional! Their care in handling my new furniture as well as being very careful of my home was so impressive. They always took off their shoes before entering my house e v e r y t I m e! It was very cold out too. I tried to get them to at least step inside on a rug where it was warm and then remove their shoes but they politely refused. Their focus was completely on getting the sectional in, set up correctly and also that I understood how to operate the queen sleeper function as well as how to connect and disconnect the sectional pieces. My entire customer experience at McCreadys has far exceeded my expectations. Their design experts are extremely knowledgeable and the store showroom is beautifully arranged; well worth the drive to Ontario, OH no matter where you might live if you are considering any type of new furniture...
