First off I must say that most of the employees are pretty nice. There have been a few that have been unattentive and rude but those are few and far between. For the most part though I have had nothing wrong with the staff and they even went as far to call me by my first name (that is a rare thing in the business world today). The biggest problem is their recent change in pricing. At first their prices were fair and made logical sense when it came to their competition. Yes, prices online were at times cheaper but not by much and I don t mind spending an extra few dollars to buy local. However, they recently made changes to their pricing that is WAY (and I mean WAY) off the edge. For example, they had a game called Final Fantasy: Revenant Wings for the Nintendo DS. This was for the cart only in a generic case and the game label had a stain on it. Under their old pricing system the game would of been in the clearance section for $7.99. Under the new system though the game is $24.99! The problem is that I can buy this game brand new and factory sealed on Amazon for $19.21! They are trying to sell the same game with a stain on the label with no box or manual for over $5 more! Come on, I don t mind paying more locally and would pay more than 7.99 but this is ridiculous. Another example is a game called Assassins Creed: Revelations for Xbox 360. I can buy the game new and factory sealed on Amazon for $14.94. The game complete & used is $14.99 at Entertainmart. OK, that is reasonable but the real kicker is the fact that the same game in the old clearance section that has nothing but the disc (no case or manual) and has a sticker on the top of the disc is.........$14.99! Seriously!? Before, they would of discounted something like this to around $5.99 or $7.99 but now they are just assuming that it is worth just as much as one in much better shape with the case and manual. Another example (I could go on for days with these) is for a 3DS game called Sims 3 (it's for the cart only). The game has been sitting there for over a month at the price of $7.99. It's obviously not selling at that price and probably needs a price adjustment. Of course, they could keep the price the same and possibly sell it down the road. Not the choice I would make but it would be a reasonable business decision. However, the expert in charge of pricing their games thought it would be a good idea to raise the price to.........$19.99! Yes, raising the price almost another 200% is a great way to get rid of non-selling inventory.......
I really can t complain about the employees or even the manager for doing this because they are probably just doing what corporate is telling them to do. It is sad though that I have been going here weekly for years and I will have to find elsewhere to buy my games locally. Like I said, I don t mind paying higher prices to buy local but I don t like having my head...
Read moreI usually love going here. Many of the employees who have been there at least two years recognize me when I come in. I love that this place has a wide variety of movies, music, and games and can usually find what I am looking for either directly in store or by ordering it from another location. I have ordered many times before, but today when I ordered, it was the worst experience I've ever had there. Before going to this location, I looked online and saw that the specific CD I was looking for was located in either Oklahoma or Arkansas. No big deal, I would just order it and have it shipped to this location. I go to the register where an employee was standing. When I told the employee I wanted to order the CD, she asked me for the title and when I told her it, she tried arguing with me saying that wasn't correct. Another employee eventually stepped in and told her I was saying the correct title. The employee then proceeded to call the two locations where the CD was at. She claimed that the numbers weren't working. After waiting a good while and her calling multiple times, I took it upon myself to call the Oklahoma location and they picked up on the first try. I explained to the Oklahoma location that I was a customer standing at the Entertainmart in Springfield, Missouri and that the employee I was working with was having difficulties getting ahold of the location. I asked the Oklahoma employee if I could hand my phone to the Springfield employee so they can talk. She said that would be fine. I told the Springfield employee that I had the Oklahoma location on the phone and proceeded to hand my phone to her. Her exact words were, "I don't want to talk on your phone." My thoughts were, "Well fine, but I got ahold of them for you," but didn't actually verbalize that. I told the Oklahoma employee that the Springfield employee did not want to talk on my phone and asked her if she could please call the location I was at and apologized for the situation. She agreed to do so and moments later the Springfield employee was on the phone again. She was snippy and rude the whole time and I honestly spent too much time in there waiting on her. If it is store policy to not talk on a customer's phone with another store then she should have said that instead of what she did say making it sound like I was disgusting or something. I love this store, but I felt like I needed to speak up about this particular employee. I have encountered her one other time while purchasing something and she wasn't the most pleasant then either. I hope she ordered the correct one and I can't wait for it...
Read moreThey actually fire hard working employees who bust their hindends for them, get this on Labor Day!!! And give no reason! And they know who they are!! I sure hope they lost some sleep over it out of guilt!! I'm sure they regretted it before the day was over!! You see they tend to be very busy on Labor Day. And she could do most any job in the store. By the way I'm not a disgruntled exemploye! That person move many states away and makes 2 x the money and more, she did there!! I'm just someone who remembers the whole story. And I hold a gruge about it because unfair is life but way to often no one ever hears the real story! This is just that the true story but with the fairy tail endding. She got a better job learned a whole lot more than they could offer. Made a lot more money at it, got Married. Then took all that knowledge with her way far away and moved on up in life!! 😊😊😊😊😊 Now you Entertainmart are still the sorry store, still no real structure, and no real way to reward hard workers with work ethic. And at least half of the people you employ still don't have work ethic. Sometimes just sometimes Justus does win in the end. I know for a fact you guys lost out big time. Some of you might be big enough to admitted it, But I could call some of you out by name who are the same old dopes and don't know when a good thing bites you in the ass!!
