Waited 2 hours for cold, inedible food.
To start, we never complain at restaurants. We always try our best to give the benefit of the doubt and roll with things, but it was just one thing after another.
We arrived at the restaurant and checked in at 8:15. They told us a 20-25 minute wait. Okay, no big deal. 40 minutes later we check back up at the front and they tell us there are 3 couples still ahead of us waiting to be seated. We almost left then. We finally got seated about 10 minutes later. It's just before 9 at this point.
We sat down and immediately ordered since we had an hour beforehand to look at the menu. We got raspberry lemonade to drink, and that part was delicious. I ordered the 9 oz parmesan crusted chicken with a loaded baked potato and a side salad, and my husband ordered the 6 oz sirloin with shrimp and a loaded baked potato, plus a side salad and an order of mac and cheese.
They brought out our salads as well as some bread and butter fairly quickly. We enjoyed those and just patiently waited. And waited. And waited... We waited for 45 minutes before our food arrived. By this point, we were mostly full from having finished our bread and salad. We dug into our entrees expecting that we would end up taking some home since we were mostly full.
My husband's sirloin steak was supposed to be medium, but it was at least medium well and very dry, but also cold! His shrimp was burnt and cold as well. His baked potato was bland, dry, and lacking in toppings. The macaroni was the only edible part. We loved the mac and cheese, it was some of the best we've ever had anywhere.
My chicken was so salty, I had to mix it with my bland baked potato to make it edible. My potato also lacked toppings like my husband's. There were 3 pieces of chicken, I only managed to eat less than one. My poor husband only took two bites of his steak, and tried 3 shrimps before giving up. It was so bad we didn't even bother with leftovers.
Our bill came out to almost $60. My husband was so unhappy with it that he actually asked if there was anything they could do. We waited for nearly 2 hours to get cold, inedible, and expensive food. They didn't offer to comp it and I really think they should have after how bad it was. The server never checked in and asked how it was, how we were doing, etc. My husband had to explicitly tell him that there was something wrong. The server said, "You should've told us so we could have remade it." One, we never even had the opportunity since he never checked back in, and two, we were absolutely not going to wait another 40 minutes for food.
They ended up taking the price down a bit, but it was still not worth it at all.
We were so disappointed. We had a gift card for this place we had received for Christmas. This was our first visit. We...

If you’re looking for a place to satisfy your carnivorous cravings, look no further than Longhorn Steakhouse in Springfield Missouri. This is not just another chain restaurant that serves bland, overcooked steaks. This is a place that knows how to treat meat right, from the selection and seasoning to the grilling and serving. This is a place that will make you feel like you’re in Texas, even if you’re in the Ozarks.
The star of the show at Longhorn Steakhouse is the Outlaw Ribeye, a 20-ounce bone-in monster that has been rubbed with what Longhorn refers to as prairie dust, and charred to perfection over an open flame. This is a steak that will make your mouth water, your eyes widen, and your heart race. This is a steak that will make you forget about everything else in the world, except for the next bite. This is a steak that will make you happy.
But don’t think that Longhorn Steakhouse is only about steaks. They also have a variety of other dishes that will please any palate, from salads and soups to burgers and sandwiches. And they have some of the best sides and appetizers you’ll ever find in a steakhouse, such as the crispy Brussel sprouts, which are roasted over an open fire and drizzled with savory spices and honey. These are not the boring, bitter Brussel sprouts you may remember from your childhood. These are sweet, crunchy, and addictive. They go perfectly with the sauteed mushrooms, which are cooked in butter and wine and have a rich umami flavor that complements the steak.
And of course, no meal at Longhorn Steakhouse would be complete without their delicious, sweet tea, which is brewed fresh daily and served in large glasses with plenty of ice. This is the perfect drink to wash down your food and quench your thirst. It’s sweet, refreshing, and satisfying.
Longhorn Steakhouse is one of mine and Kimberly’s top ten favorite restaurants in the Ozarks, and we highly recommend it to anyone who loves good food, good service, and most especially, good steaks. Whether you’re looking for a romantic date night, a family outing, or a casual lunch with friends, you’ll find something to suit both your mood and appetite at Longhorn Steakhouse. Just make sure you save some room for dessert, because their chocolate stampede cake is out of this world.
Trust me, you...
Read moreSo, about a year ago the new manager happened to come into my place of Employment and I made him some keys. He asked if I liked Longhorn Steakhouse and I explained what had happened previously and that I hadn't been back since. He said they were under new management(namely he was the new manager) and he sent me a$25 gift certificate and asked me to give them another try. Well, last week my husband and I went back and you could definitely tell things had changed. The waitstaff were all very courteous and helpful. They were busy so we ate in the bar. I ordered a steak with sweet potatoes and asked them to spice up my steak and give me a cup of soup with it instead of other side or salad. The bartender took out orders and didn't have any problems with the menu changes and miracle of miracles did have to ask permission. I highly recommend Longhorn under new management! And as an added bonus when I reheated my leftovers they were as good as when I first got to them! Thanks, my faith has been restored!
This evening my family went to Longhorn to celebrate my son's birthday. There were 13 of us. We have done this on several occasions in the past. We all like the food and service we receive there. Tonight that changed. You see apparently Longhorn has a policy that they cannot substitute or change anything on the menu even if it would save them money. Here's what happened, I wanted the 12 oz prime rib but instead of the 2 sides ($2.99 + $4.49)that they offer all I wanted was a cup of soup($5.49 bowl $? cup) to go with the meat. The waiter informed me that they would have to up charge me for the soup. That is insane. I didn't want anything other than the soup and steak and they are going to charge me for it. I didn't eat and if not for the fact that my son wanted to eat there and had 3 friends with him our entire party would have left. So they lost the $20+ from my meal and the manager (brainy guy that he must be) comp'ed us 2 $9 dessert samplers. Rather than sub 1 cup of soup for 2 sides. No wonder restaurants fail every other day. Next time we will take our business elsewhere. Stupidity is...
