I've been coming here every 2-3 weeks for over 4 years to get gel fill ins / full sets - with color, of course - by Jacob, tipping him 25% or more (if I ran late, for example) and giving him annual year-end bonuses. I'm finally writing a review because for the umpteenth time, I was treated unprofessionally. In the past, I chalked up their occasional inability to understand how appointments work or Jacob's sorta snarky comments to being busy, having an off day, whatever. He is pretty good, and that's not an easy find around here, so I just dealt with it. Friday's experience, though, was utterly crazy; it was the last straw, and I'm never going back. After noticing what looked like a couple of jagged edges, I asked Jacob to file/neaten up two of my nails. He told me that the jags were actually my skin. When I didn't understand, he explained that since I'd asked him to shorten those nails, he'd filed them down to the skin -- and he said this in the most nonchalant way, as if any normal person would want the same thing, when in fact, it looked RIDICULOUS to have bits of skin showing out under my nails. I said that since he's the expert, I would hope he'd warn me before filing off that much. His response? He literally mocked me, saying that since I'm always asking for "nyah, nyah, nyah, nyah," (his interpretation of me asking him to keep my nails short), today he decided that he would just keep filing, so that I’d see what would happen if I didn’t let him decide my nail length. His point was that he was trying to teach me a lesson! I couldn't believe how rude he was being, and that no manager was intervening. At this stage, I had to let him finish the service, so I stayed calm and got the hell out of there. I left him less than half of my usual tip. Wish I'd left $1, but oh, well. I'm sure he got the message. And the sad thing is, he probably does not care one bit. This is how French Nails -- and more specifically, Jacob -- will treat loyal & generous customers....
Read moreI been here a few times.. service has declined over the years. I recently got a regular pedicure here, i called to see if they were taking walk-ins or if i needed to make an appointment. So i ended up making an appointment and they accommodated me right away. I get there and it was a few people there getting serviced, i got an a chair fairly quickly for a regular pedicure. Lina was my manicurist, she was nice but i felt like she rushed the pedicure. She was not taking her time, everything felt fast. The phone would ring and she left while she was doing my pedicure to go answer the phone several times, there were many other workers there that could have took those phone calls so she can focus on my pedi. Once other associates were finished with their customers and it was time to pay, Lina would leave me to go ring up other associates customers. Another customer came inside to cancel her appointment and Lina leaves me again to go assist the customer that literally just walked in. She finally finishes my pedicure and seats me at the drying station. 3 minutes later another associate walks up to me and asked me to pay. I wouldn't have been offended if the woman that actually completed my pedi would have asked me to pay now. I only thought that was a bit inappropriate because they weren't asking other customers to pay while they dried. I was unsatisfied with my complete experience and will not be...
Read moreI went in wanting a regular new set of gel acrylics and came out paying $80 for I don’t even know what. The woman didn’t even take my nail polish off from what I had before and went straight over it by gluing acrylics on. When she started gluing them on, I was confused, and asked if she would take the previous nail polish off. She said “I see it, I’ve been doing this for 30 years. I’m not stupid.” On top of that, she didn’t cut my natural nails so under the acrylics is all different shapes and sizes. I came out with chunky and spotty looking nails. There are also little hairs stuck within the polish and notes that to her and she overlooked it. Had to go back and get it fixed, but even then it wasn’t much better and the lady kept saying “nobody complains” and “you can’t look too closely at them”. If I’m paying $80 + tip, I’m looking closely. I would’ve asked for a refund but it was much easier to walk out and take the loss than trying to get the money back. Will not be going back and will need to go somewhere else to...
