UPDATE 2/9/2024
Important to note... Still great food. Service even better than that!
Our server was Lavonte (not sure about spelling) who was PERFECT. His timing on check in/table visits during the meal was always right on time. He enjoys his job, he knew the menu and offered his experience with it.
The hostess automatically moved us past the family with enthusiastic children (adorable, but loud) to a great table in the back. I thanked her for her discretion.
This time we started with the parmesan crusted spinach dip - which was superb. We were just expecting that level of YUM. It's served with slightly fried bread pieces, similar to pita or naan. Amazing, for real.
My husband had the steak and rock shrimp, with green salad and broccoli. I had the 7-pepper steak salad. Fresh and tasty. Dessert was the Strawberry Short Cake w/coffee for both of us. The only dessert under 1000 calories - as my husband put it, "delicious and refreshing".
It was a nice end to a long and busy week. i promise, if we could whisk Lavonte to every restaurant in the future, we would do it.
I'm not big on chain steakhouses, but I continue to make an exception for LongHorn Steakhouse!
The hostess was friendly and efficient (my favorite combination). We were seated almost right away. They were pretty busy, so it took a minute for the waiter to greet us, but his warm welcome gave us confidence in our choice.
They start you with a small loaf of bread and butter (ala Outback, except tastier). Neither of us drink, so selzer w/lime was out choice. Server was attentive to the need for refills that my husband usually requires. We ordered the chicken bites as an appetizer. They were very tasty, a touch spicier than expected (the menu warns you), but lots of flavor.
The husband had the biggest steak (rare) they offer with broccoli x2 and a loaded baked potato. I ordered the BBQ chicken and rock shrimp combo w/broccoliand a sweetpotatoe with cinammon-sugar butter. Both came w/ salads, with enough variety of ingredients, including croutons, that they seemed 'made' as opposed to 'bag-dumped'
His steak was perfectly cooked and tasty, the broccoli was GREAT. If I seem over excited about the broccoli, forgive me, but chain restaurants rarely leave me feeling that my vegetable was something of the land, but more of the freezer.
My rock shrimp were perfect - and a generous portion to boot! The BBQ chicken was simply too salty. So much salt that it overrode the flavor of the sauce. The sweet potato was over-baked and the cinnamon-sugar qas literally poured n top of the butter - there wasn't enough warmth left from the oven (read: microwave) to have hastened the melting process, so my first bite was more like sweet sand on sweet potato baby food. Dang it!
My biggest complaint of the server was his lack of attention to the reality that half of my entree was left untouched. I probably would have declined a replacement, but it should have been discussed as the problem it was... Next time, no BBQ chicken for me.
We declined dessert, because we had enough and the prepackaged offerings of chains like this usually offer more corn syrup than fresh flavors. (There - I said it!)
Reasonably priced, but for close to $100, we may think twice before spending that much money for a Longhorn...
Read moreI don’t usually leave reviews. Actually, this is the first time I’ve ever took the time to leave a review for any restaurant so this speaks volumes to my experience, but after the way my husband and I were treated I had to say something. My husband and I visited Long Horn on Friday 12/13/24 at around 8:15pm. When we arrived, a family was waiting at the hostess desk to be seated., which we stood behind them waiting our turn. Another couple was seated in the waiting area I could conclude for the availability to be seated. There was two hosts attending to customers at the hostess desk, both women. One of the hosts was taller with long dark black hair and the other host was a shorter young lady she had mid length hair, and a purple or pink hair clip in the back of her hair. After the family in front of us was directed to their seats. The couple in the waiting area was then directed to their seats. The shorter hostess then came back to assist my husband and I. There was no hello, no hi, just, are you on the list? My husband informed her that we had just arrived and was waiting to be attended to, to which she said nothing else then gathered the napkins and told us to follow her. I tried to ignore the slight rudeness in the host behavior because I just wanted to enjoy the night. She walked us over to a four seater middle table and started to place our napkins, to which I politely asked her if it would be possible for us to be seated at a booth table. The host simply looked at us with an annoyed, impatient look on her face and promptly informed us that we did not have any more booths available. I was taken by surprised at how rudely the host responded to my question. I looked at her, smiled and asked again trying to be polite and understanding, “do you know when the next availability would be for a booth?” As my husband and I weren’t in a hurry and would have gladly waited since this was one of our favorite spots to dine. The host promptly responded, No! I could see there was not any room for further conversation. It was simply you take what is offered to you or you can go. The couple that was seated before my husband and I was in ear shot of the whole conversation. And observed the host behavior along with other customers seated at other tables. I couldn’t help, but feel a sense of embarrassment at the way the host was speaking to us and how we were being treated. Although, I asked very reasonable questions and was very was polite. The experience from start to finish was just horrible. We ended up leaving and decided to go to another restaurant for dinner that night. After this experience I don’t think I would ever return to that Long Horn location again or recommend it to anyone as of now and it’s unfortunate because it was one of our...
Read moreIt disappoints me to have to leave this review because I grab curbside and have never set foot inside this location. I have a great experience with my curbside orders. Tonight I decided to dine in and it was the worst experience and a bad decision on my part. I absolutely regret not getting takeout. To start we were greeted with a smile when we walked in & immediately seated at table 93. The table was full of crumbs and 3 dirty cloth napkins with extremely dirty silverware inside. After waiting 10/15 minutes the waitress finally came to the table. I expected a "Hi sorry for the delay" She did none of that. She did not acknowledge the fact that we waited patiently for her. She did however offer hot water to clean the dirty silverware. Which we accepted so we can soak our silverware before we eat. She did not check on the table after taking our orders. We received undercooked parm crusted chicken breast and steak not cooked at the medium well temperature we requested. The mac & cheese was not the same as it normally is and the only thing cooked perfect was the ribs. After expressing how we felt to the new manager Jonathan who was able to see the flaws in the restaurant aswell. He removed the meal we couldn't eat and offered a free appetizer or dessert. He is going to work to make the dine in experience better for the future. I genuinely feel after speaking with him things may get better. I wish him the best of luck with his staff. Tonight I tipped 6% because In my heart she did nothing, but I couldn't leave her nothing... so I left the bare minimum. I am always an overtipper, but tonight I couldn't find myself to do it. Additional training is required for the staff. Training on properly cleaning the table, silverware and glasses. Customer service training is a must. Great customer service goes a long way! With great customer service I wouldn't have cared about waiting for 10/15 minutes for my server. I wouldn't have cared about having my silverware or glass switched out for a clean set. I absolutely wouldn't have returned my meal for the undercooked chicken. I would've asked it be cooked a little more because mistakes happen, but tonight the waitress lacked Customer service skills. I think in the future she can be so much better. It wasn't a busy night, but she was preoccupied. Best of luck to this location. I will not be returning, but...
