Yesterday I completed my second stay in this hotel.
For many reasons, the rates are not commensurate with the overall quality of the hotel and the amenities offered.
The hotel is located in a very undesireable location, unless one enjoys strip malls and a haven of poor quality fast food restaurants.
The restaurant should not be classifed as a "restaurant" because the menu is essentially nothing more than bar foods with a steak and pasta dish added.
It's hours are 5PM- 10PM. At the very least the hours should be extended to 11PM on Friday and Saturday nights.
The restaurants breakfast offerings primarily cater to those who enjoy an artery clogging diet.
If one does not the options are limited to oatmeal and melon, which is what I had. The oatmeal was edible. The melon cuts (canteloupe and honeydew) was a melange of over ripe, unripe and spoiled. Stop adding fresh melon to yesterday's leftovers!
The so called "baked goods" and "pastries" are all a very cheap brand of prepackaged muffins, breads, donuts and pastries that are stale.
This isn't a Truck Stop. It is suppose to be a Category 4 Hilton Brand Hotel!
No soy/almond/rice milk to be found. This is completely unacceptable! Service ALL your guests!
The guestrooms themselves are visibly pleasant, if one does not notice the shoddy construction work, which has already begun to fall into disrepair.
The appointments are in some ways thoughtful and in others not. (ie: a night bed reading light should not be a limp construction that does not allow the guest to securely position the light)
Cleanliness wise, some of the bath linens were yellowed. Some of the bed linens were stained. There were long strands of hair in the bed linen and on bathroom floor. And why no shower mats!
The beds are disappointing. The mattress is not soft and comfortable. The pillows ( feather free) are abominable! It takes the piling up of 3 to barely equate to 1 decent pillow.
Also, I don't know what is being passed off as a King Bed in today's hotel industry, but at only 5'5" my feet should not hang off the end of the bed!
The room is appointed with a microwave and mini fridge, both of which were fully functional.
The Heating/Cooking system has malfunctions that need to be diagnosed and corrected.
During both stays I found the functionality to be irratic. This results in the room unexpectedly becoming very cold because instead of heat the system irratically kicks into generating cold air.
The hotel views are non existent. The choices are the unattractive Rt.22, the roof complete with the building's utilities and the parking lots.
There are a couple pluses to mention. The Exec. Director of Housekeeping is a marvelous woman whose dedication to guest comfort is obvious.
Such is also the case of the majority of her staff. In fact, they were more welcomimg and attentive than the Front Desk staff!
Also, the TVs are of nice size and offer several channel selections (albeit no premium channels as advertised). HBO/ Showtime etc... are not provided, but TCM was a pleasant find.
All said and done, a nightly rate of $149 and higher is far too much to pay given what the hotel offers.
I would say $89 or $99 sounds right for the location and amenities.
A One Bedroom Suite with Full Kitchen rents for under $125 nightly with pleasant landscaped outdoor space.
It seems the hotel is offsetting the cost of their Oasis Banguet Hall by way of higher guestroom rates. For...
Read moreI was going here for my wedding. My first coordinater was great. She prepared my contract for my wedding, rooms, after party and possible brunch at the hotel restaurant. I chose the Hilton because of the restaurant and my past experience with Hilton. Covid hit and my wedding was postponed for a year. My coordinator left but informed me and introduced me to the new coordinator. 6 months before my wedding. We went over the shuttle service $150 per way to my venue. Plus having enough rooms booked, as well as my after party at the lobby bar $150 for after hours of it went over. I chose the Hilton because of the restaurant , I didn’t want my guests traveling to travel on rte 22 for food. ( bad travel area ) I had tried getting in touch with my coordinator by email and showing up; she apparently was too busy. I was trying to get the final count of rooms and finalize the schedule for the shuttle and after party even the brunch. 1 weeks prior to the wedding I stopped in for the schedule for the shuttle for my itinerary for my guests ; only to be informed that there was no shuttle due to Covid. I asked when the decided and not informed me of that. What was I going to do in 2 weeks to get someone. It cost me $1000.00… not $300. The night before the wedding my friends were checking in as I was preparing to get there myself. I received a call that they were going to eat at the restaurant and said it was closed. I asked when they open they told me that they were permanently closed due to Covid yet again no one informed me of that as well. Decided to go to the lobby bar for drinks and order some food, called me again to say that the bar was closed because of Covid too. My after party was supposed to be there, what the heck.., are you kidding me… no Again no one informed me about this as well… The front desk workers were phenomenal. Trying everything to help me out. The same that had tried helping me with my coordinator. They gave us a room for our after party and gathered menus for us to order food. The party room was very nice . The following Monday I received a call from the manager about all my problems with the hotel. She was nasty and rude. Asking me when was the last time I spoke with my coordinator, I told her how I popped in to see her and emailed her and never did she informed me of any closures . She said that I violated the hotel policy by having a room given to me by a helpful person who saved my party. She wanted to person’s name so she or he would be fired for helping us out. I asked her if she was off her rocker that I gave her the name of the only person who was helpful to me. ABSOLUTELY NOT…. She was infuriated with me and said she wasn’t going to give me my $700 back due to their lack of communication and error, she said no and hung up on me.. I’m still hoping that they didn’t fire the only person who saved my wedding party.. I posted this review and it was immediately removed. Because Hilton never did anything to rectify these issues I have never stayed in Hilton again. I’m so disappointed because Hilton was all I liked to stay at. I...
Read moreVery bad experience, do not go to this hotel.
Charged me almost 250-300$ per night lot of problems, amenities were poor without even a complementary breakfast. Stay is not even worth the dollar. The elevator took me to basement which guests don’t have access to and cannot get out of there without a staff key card. Stuck there at the mercy of some maintenance person came there after 15 minutes. Couldn’t find the stairs either from that place. This also happened to my wife at a separate occasion. They later explained some staff must have called for the elevator and went in the first elevator that arrived and the elevator I was in had a problem that does it at times. Stayed there for 4 nights and they give complementary water bottle for the first night (minding I am a Hilton honors member and charged almost 300$ a night) The sheets were not changed when requested, even though front staff said they will have it changed. They had to send someone again. The key card stopped working..the front desk guy gave a B.S. answer that “you put the key close to your phone”. Then I went up keeping the card mile alway from my phone and it did not work either…problem was the door lock system was out of battery. Waited in the lobby for 15 minutes for maintenance guy replace door lock with a charged door lock. Last night of our stay, after the cleaning crew cleaned the shower, it was so slippery, slipped and fell in the shower…some bruises to her arms and sever back pain from the fall. Hotel called for the paramedics. Had to call in sick for work the next day as we could not travel long distance in this condition. There is no door to the bathroom which is right beside the entry…I don’t understand why would people choose not to put a door to bathroom for privacy. If room service comes or family entering the room everything in the bathroom is visible to hallway! Yuk! I don’t know how we stayed there for 4 nights but recollecting after back…it is strange and very uncomfortable feeling. Will not visit there again and will suggest my family and friends to never...
