Outback Steakhouse — Restaurant in Springfield

We met some nice families looking to dine here. On our way out, we had two senior citizens give two young girls a dollar each. One young girl did a cartwheel for us; too funny. The dad and mom were ecstatic and grateful of our genuine kindness.

It is as if Outback Steakhouse also scored a perfect landing itself with Mark, the manager, and somewhat with our disinterested waiter, Michael, who was somewhat curt and condescending at times with a smile.

The servers were amazing, minus the Black tall male who literally coughed in our potato soup when one of the senior citizens said a joke that made most of us laugh to their defense. The other shorter lady, perhaps mixed Hispanic and Black, was very professional as a server. She was also willing to pass our plates and reorder them when we got them wrong. She insisted with a smile. Excellent service from her! Give her a raise before you hire anyone else, including ourselves, really!

We loved the experience here and even shook the manager's hand, though he did not know who we are as volunteers. We were tempted to ask him for a job! That is how much we love this place!

Please read this professional review again, Manager Mark. You, your hostess (a nice, older Caucasian woman), and the aforementioned Hispanic or mixed Black server were part of the best experience "down under"! She was the best server we have ever had in our dining experience ever and played a major part to why we are leaving this type of review today!

Restaurant was fairly busy when I arrived. The hostess must have been busy attending to guests who walked in prior. I was asked if I wanted a booth or to sit at a high table by the bar, I took the high table. It took a while for the waiter to come to the table even though there weren't many patrons in the establishment. Once the waiter arrived, I gave my drink order, and shortly after, two other individuals arrived at my table with two of the wrong drinks. They apologized, immediately bringing me the right beverage. The waiter then returned and took my order. Once again, my order came out wrong. While waiting for a replacement order, I noticed the waiter walking around, joking, talking on his phone, and texting. Clearly, whatever he had going on was more important than taking down my order correctly. Finally got the right food, which came out great. Once it was correct. So, with all that being said, this restaurant needs to have their leadership be a little more vigilant of the staff as well as the staff pay more attention to their guests than...

We always have a great time eating here! We go at least 3-4 a month and we'll keep coming back. Not only is the food delicious but the staff is always friendly and very hospitable, from the moment we walk in until we leave. We've had the pleasure of being served by Manny, Ivan & Nia, all of whom are great!

UPDATE: Went there again for lunch after church today. Glad to see Ivan & Manny and even had a quick chat with them while we dined. Danny was our server today and once again, we received a great service!

UPDATE Jan 27, 2023: I'm so sad to remove some stars after today's visit. Our friend Manny wasn't around, but I did keep seeing Ivan, who actually checked on us once after we had to return a steak that was cooked well when it was supposed to be medium rare. After taking our order and serving our drinks, our waiter (whose name I can't remember but sounds like "Keshon") didn't bother to stop by to ask how our food was.
