Tried working here. After seeing as how they are not running ads that match online, not able to help customers for basic things (even though I have more than enough experience in over 10 years of customer service and a degree to know how to run your own business), let alone the rest of shipping, production and sales; they still don't have answers for people at closing shifts, due to nobody wanting to work that is an actual manager. They tried saying it's mandatory 15 minute break at 6hrs and only at 6hrs in Illinois it's 20 minutes that took a Google search. Which is just ridiculous. Never late. Always on time. One sick day and I've never seen a employer so oblivious to the lazy managers not in the cutting room for the meat department. I literally watched a dog choke on a sausage that one had made. They tried to fire me, after a sliding glass door broke, they had been putting a metal trays in a glass case so the person that kept hitting the glass with the trays taking them out probably did this repeatedly; until I opened and closed it normally and it broke. I quit on the spot which was a first for me. Never worked for such an oblivious over head that has no understanding of how to run a successful business in my life. They are no different than any other grocery store at the end of all their marked up prices and stupid gimmicks. I'm not one to actually put in a bad review, but this place deserves less than a star... They just pretend to be a high end grocery store. Still not only dime store Santas, but also a bunch of pep boys. No understanding of an engine or a business. Enjoy the concrete... If you're looking for the same thing Walmart is offering in a different format, at a failing business, look no further. I definitely wouldn't choose them as business partners if I wanted to actually make money. Truly proving you can throw money at anything to make it look like it's successful. However someone should tell them the peanut butter is delicious... Might have to pick up...
Read moreBelow is a review I wrote when the store first open. Today was a bit different. Everyone was great. I say some fruit flys and told a worker and he started look at it. Then came seafood. I didn't believe it. The first gentlemen noticed my longhorn logo and we talk about cws. It was great, then came the second guy. I think his name was Shane. I saw the walleye in the case and asked how would that fish be prepared. He said he did know. Matter of fact he didn't know how to prepare any of the fish. Okay...I then asked if I could see the walleye and he replied "I will have to take it out of the case.". I said he did would like to see it out of the case. It's better for me. Well then came the hem haw. First the glove. Missed on his first try. Then he puts on one glove. Okay, he manages to get the filet but there was isn't paper on the scale. Okay put back the fish then with the gloved hand, which just handled it he fish, he gets paper and places it on the scale then the fish. Now I don't see a towel or anything cleaning wise but okay, I ask to see the cod and the same thing. The guy looks like he really doesn't like his job and was doing it quite poorly. Finally we got the fish but no one cleaned the scale. I'm not a clean freak by any measure but I hope some one there is.
Just so y'all know. I hope some write a review that things are better. I do like the place.
This is a grand place. It will be a place to go. It's more than a grocery store. Everyone should check this place out. It's a whole food, central market...
Read moreWhen this place first opened I loved it. Was very excited and came here all the time for good quality items. However, Not sure what the deal is NOW with this location/store but I feel like it’s being ran by someone that thinks they can just do whatever the heck they want. I usually get pick up orders from this location living an hour away and getting off work to grab a grocery pick up. Well without any announcements, they have out of no where stopped doing pick up grocery orders. They also don’t do deliveries anymore. Even Aldi does those two. The guy on the phone was rude and dry about why they weren’t and said he wasn’t sure if they would do it or not again. Also said their vehicle for deliveries was missing. I was just kind of taken back at how unprofessional and scattered this sounded. No apologies or explanation or expectations for the future of what their plan is if they’ll never do pick ups again or if it’s stopped for whatever reason it’s stopped for forever?
Their employees also are constantly over charging making mistakes and 9/10 the order would always be wrong. So guess it’s a good thing, I’ll be going to Hyvee for better employee system and pick up systems with better prices. It’s a shame this place could be so much better but lacks in many different areas. Makes you wonder who’s...
