This store is a joke. I went in one night and Kendall, an apparent print lead was unhappy of us coming in 30 minutes before close (mentioned it to us about the time while we were there) I wanted to place an order for wedding invites but wasnât expecting it to be done at that time.. I had to change quantities due to budget.. I called and spoke to Kendall to give new quantities and get a new quote- which was in my budget. I was told since this is a large order I had to come in store to pay firstâ understandable. I come to pay to get my order started and was greeted (take that lightly) by Gracie. They apparently have zero of the new quantities and files that I just spoke with Kendall about (even though she created an order and gave me a quote?) So I have to drive 25 minutes back to my house just to get the files matched with the amount needed.. FRUSTRATING. I call and speak with Kevin, apparent GM. he takes the file names and matches them with the quantity and can get my order started.. tells me to come back itâll be done by 3. Great! Except I get there at 3, like I was told.. and Kevin makes a face to his employees as soon as I walk in the door because what do you know, they arenât cut. Gracie, as I walk up says âThey arenât done đâ so I have to leave empty handed and come back. I get home and was called by Tim, the only employee in there with an ounce of customer service, that tells me my order is ready. Perfect! At this point it could be printed in invisible ink I just want to be done with the place. I get there and Anthony, an apparent lead of some different department (who apparently forgot his whole interaction with me when speaking to his manager) tells me that because they have 2 invoices with my orderâ 1 invoice that was my first quote way over my budget, and the 2nd invoice being the correct oneâ that in order to get this order picked up, I would have to PAY FOR BOTH (so pay for one order thatâs NONEXISTENT) because âhe knows nothing of the situation and thatâs whatâs hereâ asked him if we could count them, being as one quantity was just 30âŚ.. NOPE. So as I was looking, I noticed one was printed upside down⌠mentioned that to him and apparently thatâs all he remembers from that interaction! I call the next morning to see if anyone is in that knows the situation so I can purchase these (since I didnât want to pay for that non existent order) and get a return call from Kevin, who doesnât want to listen to anything I have to say on the phone and wanted to just tell me that he doesnât have to fulfill this order, wanted to tell me about respect (hilarious, talk to your staff) and wanted to tell me not to get on google and call his staff out by name (why do you wear badges lol) if I could give this store and all of its staff a zero star rating, I would. There was also another mad customer in the same time I was in, complaining of staff.
Kevin did give me my complete order free! I mean, after being in the store that much and learning over half your staffs names (which Anthony says youâre beyond short staffed anyways so I probably know them all!) and not even getting everything originally ordered â I think it...
Read moreI came on here ready to write a review because of the most amazing experience I had at this store and was saddened to see a review left under the name Kevin Paulen. I just want to say I have never witnessed such a thing in all my years of visiting Office Depot. After seeing that review I had to come on here and really tell the amazing experiences I have had at Office Depot. I have met Kevin personally and let me tell you he is one of kindest people I have ever met. He treats his customers with respect and is always willing to help. Kendall always is so kind and he is very helpful. Heâs definitely the one to go to when needing something to print. In fact the whole print team is very helpful. Iâve only met Gracie two times and sheâs also very helpful with everything thing I need, making sure to always ask many questions about what youâre needing so she can complete your job nicely and efficiently. Again, I was so saddened to see this negative review left as I have had not one experience like that ever. But let me also tell you some secrets about customer service as I am a person who works in customer service as well. Most of the time when you see such things as Kevin Paulen is describing, it usually has the customers name written all over it. Iâm sure that if they were treated so poorly, which I honestly donât think they were at this establishment, that some of it has got to be some of the customers fault. I think most people need to realize that in customer service the customer is not always right, but instead that is just what staff is told. Having a nasty attitude and being snarky towards employees is not how youâre going to get your way. This is only how I could assume that Kevin Paulen mustâve been acting to be treated in the manner that they did. I mean take a hint people when a consumer based, corporate chain says that they donât want your business, youâve got to be the one doing...
Read moreNeed two PDF files printed and bound. 300+ and 200+ pages each. Got on Office Depot web site, uploaded the files, set up the job, viewed the final product (about 20 minutes of my time), selected the store for pick-up, said it would be ready today. Went to pay and credit card screen was blank and light blue - no place for credit card number. FIddled with it several minutes trying this and that. No Luck. Clicked the CHAT ONLINE button for help. No Help. Called the 800 number. Explained the situation. Person replied "I think they are having a problem with the web site. Try again later." That's your solution??? TRY AGAIN LATER??? How do you people stay in business??? Asked if the local store (20 miles from me) could pull up the uploaded file and take my credit card over the phone. Sure, he says, in broken English. Ill connect you to the Springfield store. I reiterated, Springfield Illinois Store # XXX. Phone rings. Go on hold over 10 minutes. Finally an answer. I ask Are You In Springfield? She says no, This is the Chicago store downtown. OMG!!! SERIOUSLY??? So I called the local store, explained the situation for the third time, and asked if they could take my credit card or pay when I picked it up. He said they cant even access the uploaded file until it is paid online. SO..... the crack techie staff was wrong.... AGAIN. Turns out the solution was SO SIMPLE... why I didn't think of it earlier. I logged out of the web site and logged onto the store that does the same thing but gets the job done. So long Office Depot. Wont be seeing you...
