Meike Aton Art — Attraction in Springfield

We had a lot of fun in this class. I've really missed being around people since covid hit so this was a perfect mix of doing something educational, adventurous, all while being social (something I dearly miss). It was GREAT. I wanted to take this class mainly because I had seen her art in her gallery and thought, WOW, WHAT A TALENT. I'd be a fool not to take a class from her. And so I signed up, and I'm glad I did. I learned some great things about painting abstract art, all while having a great time getting to know more people in the area. My husband and I discovered Meike's work and gallery while on vacation. That was one of our favorite memories. The quality of work is evident. It was excruciating to pick just one item to bring home with us. But the person herself, Wow! I felt her generosity of spirit the entire visit. What a delightful experience I had at Meika Aton’s studio recently. I was in an acrylic workshop that involved texturing with various materials from tissue paper, handmade paper and shells and sand. Meika took us from beginning steps through the finished piece explaining each detail with easy instructions and examples. She supplied all the materials, as promised.
