I don’t particularly weight train too heavy but I enjoy working out at a gym because that sort of environment gives me motivation and accessibility to train how I please depending on if I enjoy the gym or not. I really enjoyed the week and a half I was able to train at Royal Barbell. I am visiting from Californian, and I have seen a lot of gyms all around the world, and I thought Royal Barbell had an amazing gym set up. I used the main gym floor which had a good size turf area, plenty of squat racks on platforms, plenty of legitimate bench’s for bench press, dumbbells and cables. This facility had pretty much everything for training between cardio, CrossFit, powerlifting, and general training… the only thing I wish it had was a sauna lol but I know that’s a privilege to have so it doesn’t take away from how much I really liked this gym, the set up, and the professionalism from the people who worked there. I only conversed with a couple of the employees because I was usually there during a down time, but they were kind and professional. They also kept the place very clean which is one of the main reasons I liked it. It wasn’t the biggest gym in the world but I liked that because it seems like they incorporate community and relationships with the groups and classes they have which I would’ve taken more interest in if I stayed longer. With all that being said I would definitely recommend this gym to anyone that may visit, or lives, in the Springfield area.

Read moreI just wanted to take the time to do show some appreciation for my personal trainer at Royal, Steven Woods. As an older and substantially over weight guy, I was hesitant to get back in the gym. I knew I needed a personal trainer for accountability, but my biggest hesitation was that I recently invested a lot of money (upfront for a year) with a local trainer who promised it all. To be blunt, without getting into the mud, it was a big, huge waste of money. (Enter Steven) This guy sent me more accountability texts in one week, than the other guy did for the entire contracted year! Btw...I had not informed Steven of my previous bad experience...the accountability he provided came from his own volition and desire to help me succeed. As I told him, this quality already places him above the great majority of trainers on the market....I know this from personal experience. But, in addition to that, he has added tons of value with his detailed knowledge of proper technique, nutritional advice, and his desire for feedback throughout the process. He embraces communication, and it can't be overstated how important this is in a relationship with a trainer. Get Steven to train you...you won't regret it! Royal Gym has been a great place to train, as well. Very friendly culture, both staff...
Read moreI'm really glad I decided to check Royal Barbell out when I was looking for a place to workout! I wanted to increase my strength and conditioning but I knew I needed some help after being out of that scene for quite a while. It's only been a little over a month and I'm already seeing a difference in my body and how I feel.
I signed up for personal training and wasn't disappointed. Paden is super knowledgeable and detailed. What I really appreciate is that he knows how to work with me where I'm at (i.e I'm not an 18 yo dude!), he's patient but knows when to push me too. I'm confident when I work out on my own now.
Lastly, I love the atmosphere of the place. The staff is friendly and there's a wide range of people there so I felt like I...
