Recently, I attended dinosaur exhibit in Springfield, MO at the Expo Center which was targeted at children, expecting an educational and enjoyable day out. Unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory, primarily due to overpriced tickets and a series of unmet expectations.

Firstly, the event advertised an additional "excavation exhibit" which required an extra fee on top of the already steep entrance price. However, to the disappointment of many, this particular exhibit was not available on the day, with no prior warning or subsequent refund offered to attendees. This lack of transparency and failure to deliver promised experiences significantly detracted from the value of the event.

Furthermore, the dinosaurs on display were in dire need of maintenance and cosmetic repairs. Many of the models looked worn and outdated, which diminished the immersive experience one would expect from such an exhibit. This neglect suggests a lack of investment back into the exhibit, which is concerning given the high cost of admission.

Another point of contention was the inflated cost of concessions. A small soda was priced at $4, a cost significantly higher than what one might find outside the venue. Moreover, the prohibition of bringing in personal drinks forced attendees into these high-priced purchases, adding an unnecessary financial burden to the day out. I paid $150+ for 2 adults and my 2 girls and purchased a $28 balloon that my youngest so desperately wanted... I'll take the blame on that.

Most disappointing, however, was the general cleanliness of the venue. The limited rides and displays that were available were filthy, creating an uninviting and potentially unhealthy environment for visitors. This lack of basic hygiene, especially in an event aimed at children, is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the organizers.

This dinosaur exhibit felt more akin to a shady carnival than an educational day out. The combination of high costs, unfulfilled promises, poor maintenance, and lack of cleanliness created a disappointing experience that I would not recommend. Save yourself the money and the frustration by seeking out alternative educational activities for your family. This is only my personnel take on this and some may have found it a bit more worth the cost but ask around before paying those...

Since the Expo Center hosts events and I have only been to a few of them over the years, it's hard to review the company itself. I've never been a vendor here and don't know anyone who has but it has always been a good experience when I have gone to different events.

I think it's a great place for companies and organizations to host events at. I'm not sure how much it costs to rent it out but it's one of the better places to use in my opinion. I'm not personally a fan of it being downtown because of how parking is but there are many parking garages nearby. There is a hotel across the street so it's very convenient for anyone traveling from out of state. The Expo itself has a very large open floor plan and tons of other large rooms to utilize. The facility has always been kept clean and I haven't ever noticed anything broken or not working. The only potential downside I can see is with how the building was built. The main room for the events was built as a sublevel so you have to walk down a decent flight of stairs after entering. This isn't a big deal for most events but something to keep note of if an event is going to be for elderly or anyone with physical disabilities. Using the front entrance could take longer for people to get in if the majority of the audience were handicap. I'm sure they have solutions for this but it's something I feel should be noted.

Overall it's a great place and there are some really great events being hosted here. I hope to see more events coming to Springfield and using this place...

I recently attended an event at the Springfield Expo Center, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, going above and beyond to ensure that every attendee had a positive experience. The booths on display were nothing short of amazing, showcasing the latest and greatest in their respective industries. The layout of the convention center was also incredibly well thought out, allowing for easy navigation and access to all areas of the venue. Overall, I highly recommend the Springfield Expo Center for anyone looking to host or attend a top-notch event. Thank you to the entire team for making my experience truly...
