Short Hills Club Village — Attraction in Springfield

We moved to Short Hills Club in October. It has been great. The gals in the office are wonderful. They do such a great job. They made our move from our home to an apartment so easy. The apartment was newly renovated and it just perfect. Our apartment is nice and spacious. The maintenance engineer men that work around the building are also great. They are always going by on their golf carts doing something around the buildings. Not like some places where you never see a worker. The guys are very friendly and respectful. Anytime I have needed a repair, it has always been handled quickly. It is also close to public transportation with is great for commuters. I highly recommend Short Hills Club Village in Springfield.

I want to add to my review three years later. I am still very happy here. I just want to say to ignore all the negative reviews. The maintenance men here are all great. George, Jamie and Erik are hard working. I have never had a problem with these gentlemen. Anytime I have had an issue these guys respond promptly. My washer/dry and dishwasher broke and they were both replaced within a reasonable time frame. I have had my plumbing repaired with no issue. Not only are they hard working, they are all friendly and fun people. I have had a lot of laughs with these guys!! The women in the office are the best. They make this whole complex run smoothly. It’s not easy to run a complex of approximately 288 apartments and keep everyone happy. People need to understand apartment living is living with other people and you need to do your part in making it a happy place to live.

Also, people complaining about be charged for repairs only happens when it is your fault. It has to be pretty bad for SHC to charge you. I once cracked my bathroom sink. Totally my fault. George charged me a reasonable amount. IT WAS MY FAULT. Deal with it people. Regarding rent increases, no one enjoys increases. Please show me a place that doesn’t increase rent? Springfield has rent control. They can’t go over 4%. In that regard, we are lucky. If you have a problem with rent increases, go to the Town Committee mtgs every other Tuesday evening and complain to them to lower the 4%. See how far you get with them.

WELCOME HOME GUYS!!! My name is LaTasha Albert and I’m a current resident at “ SHORT HILLS CLUB VILLAGE. Well let me get started. I moved here because I completely fell in love with the customer service that I received from Veronica. When I came to look at my apt she was very professional and her energy was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! Then she showed me my apt. OMG. As soon as she opened the door to my apt I could not stop the tears from falling down my face. It was beautiful and perfect just for me. I could remember Veronica saying “ aww don’t cry are u ok?” Yes I replied it’s just beautiful I want to live here. “ Well let’s get started she responded. Veronica was absolutely amazing as she guided me through my process. Then I met Kris omg she was the most compassionate professional leasing agent I’ve met. And that smile of hers will light up any football stadium. There has never been a time that I had a problem that Kris and Veronica didn’t completely fix for me. Besides our community being beautiful and safe I moved here because of Veronica and Kris and that’s the absolute truth. The both of them show compassion and professionalism in everything that they do. Now let’s talk about our maintenance crew. They are time friendly respectful and they completely do an amazing job. Oh and they clean up behind themselves lol. I truly believe that if you live here in our community it would be an amazing investment. This property is definitely worth paying rent for. I enjoy my apartment the property and the people that live here. If you invest here I know without a shadow of a doubt that you will love it. I have lived in SHCV for over 12 years and have been through 3 management companies. The current management has been effective at updating the much needed exteriors and interiors at a very low level. It is definitely an improvement, (there was no where to go but up before) however, they only go as far as what is seen on the surface. Only the main roadway apartments have proper landscape maintenance, seasonal update and sprinklers. The interior lawns are dried up, spotty and neglected, brush is dead and overgrown, and complaints are ignored. Any maintenance on the interior is at the bare minimum or ignored. Your AC will have to fail 5 or more times for them to replace it with another used one. Office staff is kind and works hard. Maintenance do what they are allowed. Neither have any power to do anything. Parking is scarce, over crowded and not monitored. The worst news yet, they are barricading multiple parking spots in each lot for the ENTIRE Winter starting today, including handicapped spots, in order to make room for snow removal that isn't even here. It is utter nonsense and will force people to park outside the community and walk in, in the dark; Including elderly/handicapped and children in residences. Dangerous and neglectful. My speculation is they were sued last year and are thwarting any further financial losses. Parking is atrocious here, and good luck finding a garage. What's the use of living here if you can't rely on a parking spot to come home to. Not to mention, rent continues to rise.
