SALON 518 — Local services in Millburn

This has to be one of my worst experiences after 15 years plus of getting balayage at other salons. Salon 518 seemed to have a great reputation so I thought I would try them since I was in town. I asked Diana to tone down the brassiness in my hair and she came up with a plan. I trusted her. Three hours later and after I blew it dry - I was so disappointed. I had stripy baby highlights near the crown - you could clearly see where my new growth was versus old. Nothing blended. It just looked terrible and the brassiness was still there. I said something immediately. I even went back after 2 weeks of waiting to see if it would improve. I know color - I'm been doing this for most of my life and I knew immediately that it was not right. Honestly I think Diane was trying to get out the brassiness in a trial and error way. Maybe she works more on brunettes - I don't know. I went back to have it 'fixed' and it was the same talk about making my roots darker and this and that - none of it really made sense to me and I felt horribly taken. I decided to just take the loss and leave. I spent over 250 plus which is city prices. It was terribly disappointing to spend so much and not get the quality color you expect in return. I was a client on and off for years. I had to cancel my 3:00 appointment in the morning because a fever came on overnight.

I apologized to the person working up front and offered to pay for my services in FULL in advance to book for the following week.

They told me when I booked they looked into my account I had a lot of cancelations and that the stylest (a new one who does not know me) does not want to take me as a client. I am not allowed back to the salon.

Now, here is an idea. Keep a cancellation list; you had more than enough time to fill the spot being you are so busy. If they were accommodating, I could have paid her tip up front!

I am a business owner and understand the importance of everyone's time, this is real life, and things happen!

This was poor management! Many other salons in Milburn to try out.

If you decide to go here, Ina is the best and would not allow this to happen. Unfortunately, she did not provide the service I needed...

Salon 518 is amazing! It is beautifully styled, very clean and always has a relaxing atmosphere. They carry, use and sell all kerastase products which always make my hair feel and look amazing. I have been going to Jenny for years and she always does an incredible job. She takes the time to listen to what I would like done and my color always comes out flawless! She's also really nice, friendly and very easy to talk to during what can be a very long time spent in her chair. The entire staff is friendly from the manager to the front desk and everyone in-between. I always feel welcome and taken care of. I look forward to going here and always walk away loving my results.
