Wow!! One of the best experiences I've ever had catering for my film crew!! I spoke with Koko directly who was unbelievably kind and knowledgable, and went above and beyond to ensure my crew and I were happy and well-fed. Even when going to pickup the food, he helped me carry everything out to my vehicle as it was a large order.
As aforementioned, I placed a large catering order on a Monday morning and Koko and the team made it happen! I discovered Jack's Surf and Turf at a recent event and saw online that they also had non-seafood options, as we had a few seafood allergies/aversions on set. When I called to place the order, Koko was super accommodating and assured me I could feed all of the crew with vegetarian and meat options—and I did!
Everything was cooked and prepared to perfection. The tacos were FULL and loaded with flavor (we got chicken and beef), the salads and dressings were delicious, the coleslaw was (and I quote) "some of the best I've had" from some members in the crew, the sliders were gone in seconds, the mac & cheese was flavorful and creamy, and the chicken tenders and fries were a yummy combo. I found the personal touch of my name on all the "thank you" notes on the boxes such a lovely thing to do. Again: above and beyond!
My only note for next time is maybe including a hearty vegan option, as I wasn't aware of any on the menu. However, everything else was fantastic and I was able to accommodate the vegan crew member with a salad and fry platter.
I believe they're undergoing a rebrand to "Jack's Surf and Turf" and let me tell you right now, their "Turf" is just as incredible as their "Surf", so I'm in full support of this haha! Overall, I was blown away by the service, kindness, flavor, and value, and I don't write this kind of thing about just any place. If you're in the area or ever need to cater for an event, this is your place!!...
Read moreI really hate to write a review but so disappointed with the food quality. I order from this restaurant regularly (Milburn location) as I often work late, love seafood and it’s nearby. In the last months quality has gone down exponentially. Last night I ordered a fettuccine Alfredo with lobster along with fish and chips and now I’m further at a lost on what to order that’s still delicious. The food was disgustingly bland, tried to just add salt but the pasta was barely edible (also it was more of spaghetti, not fettuccini as the noodle were thin) And lobster chewy. The codfish was soaked in grease and also bland. What is going on with the food quality here? Prior I would adore the lobster salad but now for what I could have in salad, I receive mostly coleslaw. They once offered very good chicken fingers for kiddos, but last time I ordered, entirely different brand/style used. I have tried a variety of things on the menu and nothing is consistently delicious but rather hit or miss. Even for Mother’s Day, I had a great seafood boil for myself but a friend ordered a lobster roll and it was simply not well made. Maybe there are financial issues impacting what ingredients are used or there needs to be more help in the kitchen but the quality is going downhill and I will be taking a break from ordering as the cost is not giving the quality it should and I am feeling taken for granted...
Read moreWas looking for lobster rolls and came across Jack's. Based on positive reviews, Jack's seemed to be the place to go. Took advantage of the online ordering. Was limited to pick up time of on the hour or half hour, so picked a 12:30 pick up during lunch. I actually needed a 12:45 pick up and called after placing the order and my later pick up was honored with no issue. Order two lobster roll platters, one with regular fries ($2 additional) and the other with sweet potato fries ($ additional). When I arrived, I was a few minutes early from. My 12:45 pick up request, and was happy my order was not ready ans was being prepared. At 12:45, my meal came out as requested. Whenever ordering fries to go, it al always a gamble whether they are packaged correctly. When I arrived to my lunch location 15 minutes away, I was happy to vent hole in the platter. When we ate them, they were still warm and crispy which is not common when taking out fries. The lobster roll, Maine (cold and woth Mayo) was also tasty with good sized chunks of lobster. Lucked put with parking in front of the store, but did see signs that there was additional parking in the rear. Overall a great dinning location with ease of ordering, great a t customer service, and good food. Will definitely head back and even consider other meal options...
