ââ Decent Rides, But Some Disappointing Changes
Iâve been attending Windy City Amusementsâ carnivals for years, and Iâve always enjoyed their ride selection. The thrills, lights, and energy of the carnival have given me some great memories, and I have to give credit where itâs dueâthe rides are fantastic and well-maintained.
However, I was disappointed to learn that theyâre now charging a $20 entry fee, which was never the case before. The free admission was one of the things that made their carnivals accessible and enjoyable. Now, with this additional cost, visiting regularly just isnât realistic for me.
I understand that safety concerns due to recent incidents may have contributed to the change, but it still feels frustrating for loyal attendees who have never caused any trouble. To add to my hesitation, I have a feeling that Highwood might bring back the First Unit again this year, which makes it harder to justify spending money on something that doesnât feel fresh.
Overall, Windy City Amusements still puts on a fun carnival with exciting rides, but the new pricing structure and lack of variety in some locations make it less appealing. I hope they consider making some positive changes...
Read moreHUGE SCAM!!!!!! Fair came to Lake in the Hills IL what a total joke!!! I posted two pictures one is how the website posted how you can buy wrist bands. My husband was there at 430 to buy wrist bands for the Sat 5:30-9:30PM time. The lady in the booth said they ran out. (That seems to me like Dunkin Doughnuts saying they ran out of doughnuts), but now after reading several reviews this is their scam to make more money. So after I went there at 5:00 (second picture they donât even have people in real lines) they ended up telling people they were shutting the booth down because they had no bracelets or tickets. ????? What the heck seriously???? Well I guess Karma is real because when we went to walk our dog right by the area a bunch of cop cars and people leaving at 7:00. They got shut down. Rain on Friday and rain expected tomorrow Sunday, so I guess this company only got a few hours to scam people by lying about running out of wrist bands. (Right, you ran out of wrist band when you were here to be open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. You were closed Friday because it rained so the first you were open Saturday you run out??) No, youâre just a horrible company that practices...
Read moreThe Hispanic employees operating the rides are very nice. However, the managers that were walking around are very rude. I saw a Caucasian man telling two of his employees to go fix a bench that was falling over. The way he asked them was very rude. He said âI need two people, hurry up you two, letâs goâ and pointed at the two men operating the zipper. Very sad to see employees be treated that way. The ladies in the booth are also very rude, seems like they donât want to be there. There was a sign that said they were selling wristbands. So I asked for one and she only responds âtickets onlyâ in a snappy tone. Please donât support...
