Overall, my boyfriend & I had a good experience here for the Mats & Mimosas workshop! Our stenciling for our doormat was initially crooked, so we brought it up to one of the workers. She proceeded to take off the stenciling and try to reconfigure it back on. In doing so, she broke off pieces of the stenciling and made it much more difficult for us to paint the mat, as the stenciling would not stick properly. One of the other delightful workers, Bridget, informed us they could’ve just reprinted our stenciling to fix it that way, but this other worker did not do so and we had a more difficult, less fun experience. I feel like we should have gotten some of our money back for this incident but none of that compensation was mentioned. I’ve visited Board & Brush in St. Charles twice and fully intend on going back! It’s such a wonderful hands on crafting experience. The staff is wonderful and kind, despite all guests needing assistance with projects and asking questions! Katie, the owner, runs the business with her husband and she is gracious and personable. Went for a small group work outing. Wine was reasonably priced. So many projects and options to be creative! Kristin and Julie were super nice and encouraged my creativity by giving me the idea and instruction to do the ombre/gradient effect. I was excited I even got some basic instruction on using a power drill! Everyone loved their projects afterward.
