I personally was very pleased here. We can't here for mother's day. My mom had the liver and onions (some of the best she said she had).I had the gyro sandwich. My dad is notoriously picky, he had the Mac and cheese and he thought it was too runny (I agreed but didn't think it was THAT bad). I'm pretty sure it's the kind of cheese they used but he's entitled to his opinion.
The waitress was stretched a bit thin but I assume that's because of the holiday. Despite that, the manager still came over personally to check up on my dad's food (which my dad really should have said something earlier). He was more than fair in dealing with it, and it really shows how much this place cares about customer satisfaction.
Will they check out their Mac and cheese? I certainly hope so, but this place, in my eyes, did absolutely nothing wrong other than being a little short staffed for a day, which isn't even their fault most likely. I would love to return here and hope other people check out how awesome it is to have a customer caring team at the front lines. Major kudos to these guys for dealing...
Read moreFantastic, with One safety miss...First, So happy to see Alexanders back open. They have a new large tent set up, which accommodates the Illinois patio rules. The food is back to its usual high quality which we so dearly missed. There were a few service hiccups, but most restaurants Getting back and acclimated, While having to wear masks and following new rules, are probably disrupting the flow and creating the need for new muscle memory. We had a great experience With one major exception; The person who ran our food out was not wearing a mask. Additionally, he was leaning over everyone, including us, while he was delivering the plates. All while asking if we needed anything else. He was extremely courteous and friendly, but being within 6 or 7 inches of him was a bit unsettling. We thought maybe he just forgot it for our order, but we witnessed it over the course of 45 minutes. This is obviously something that would impact our decision to return, so we are hoping that this has been addressed already, or will be addressed. Looking forward to seeing...
Read moreAlexander's is a quant place off of rt 64, the type of place you may find in an oasis off the interstate. It has a warm, comforting feeling to it that is hard to replicate. The staff were all friendly, and my partner's and my server was very cute and bubbly.
The food was very appealing, from the presentation to the taste. Alexander's, while serving lunch, is definitely more of a breakfast oriented resturant. I got a omelet with pancakes and hashbrowns. I was not able to finish the entire meal because of how big the serving sizes were. The omelet was wonderful, if not a bit too full of green and red pepper. The hashbrowns would probably be the low point of the meal, they weren't bad, but they could have been cooked a while longer. The pancakes however felt like dessert, they were fluffy and sweet.
Alexander's is a nice place to settle down and take a load off, and I would recommend that, if you're ever in St Charles and looking for breakfast, to take...
