Rookies Sports Bar (St. Charles) — Restaurant in St. Charles

We've been to the Elgin, the Hoffman Estates and the St Charles locations pretty routinely. Each time we go to the StC location, the service is always incredibly slow, the servers get orders wrong and the host always seems to be missing. This visit was no exception. The host seemed confused about how/where to seat the two people before us. It took him about 10 minutes to put the pair at a table near the bar, he even checked in with two different servers and they told him where to put the duo. When he finally seated us, we just told him to put us anywhere. The table he sat us at had an empty condiment box, no silverware, and left us with no popcorn. We snagged silverware from another table, but each table's condiment box had empty ketchup bottles in it, so we ended up asking our server for some. The sole bright spot of this visit was our server Angela (who brought us popcorn without us even having to ask). It was the first time in a long time that we not only got our orders right, she didn't disappear without a trace. At first she made us nervous as she took our orders without a note pad, but she was great. She kept our drinks filled even though the place was very busy and we didn't feel abandoned. We still go to the StC location due to its convinience, but it is a distant third place from the other two Rookies locations. Had this been our first visit we may not...

Some of THE absolute WORST service I have encountered anywhere. Popcorn and napkins and French fries on the floor are understandable on a busy summer Sunday evening. But to have to ASK two different times (and people) for a simple glass of water is unforgivable. The second time I had to ask, I went to the bar, and as I walked up there, the bartendess went to the other side to gab with some elderly goat. The girl who said she'd bring water asked if I needed anything else. I told her popcorn sounded good (especially since we'd been there 20 minutes and by then had the menus memorized) and she said "Oh, it's just cooking now." And we never received popcorn. Once we finally got to place our order, it was delivered quite promptly (yay!) but we had to ask the waitress for napkins and silverware!!! All delicious, of course. Never was I offered a refill on my coke. The black cow Mom ordered came with a SOUP SPOON in it instead of an iced tea spoon!!! I was getting up and walking out the door when the waitress came and gave us our check. I handed her cash, thanked her, and high-tailed out of there. A couple years ago when we "dined" there, we ordered saganaki. It came to our table burned!! Yes, I have reported this to other people who used to...

We have never been to this location so when we saw they had entertainment on their patio,we decided to go on a Saturday night .

They have live entertainment almost everyday but Monday from 7-10pm. Band schedule is listed on their website.

We arrived about 630pm and were seated immediately. We started with drinks first. Our server Mateusz was very nice but never told us their drink specials. My wife had a Mai Tai which was very good.

For dinner I had to try their wings. A little pricey but solid in taste. I had their Spicey Honey Garlic and Sriracha Bourbon sauces. Both were sticky and fantastic. My wife had their Veggie Burger on a gluten free bun (1.00) extra and she loved it.

Our server brought us our check before he asked if we wanted another drink..which we did..since we wanted to hear the band. Not sure why the rush when there were plenty of empty tables available.

If you are looking for a family friendly sports bar with live entertainment, Rookies - with 7 locations - is definitely a place...
