Taste of Himalayas might not win any awards for interior design, but what it lacks in aesthetics, it more than makes up for in flavor. This hidden gem delivers some of the best food I’ve had in a long time—especially for vegan diners. The vegan options are plentiful and thoughtfully prepared. The vegetable samosas were absolutely killer—crispy, rich, and decadent enough to make you forget they’re plant-based. The Himalayas vegetable korma was another standout: creamy, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. I ordered it mild and immediately wished I’d gone spicier—the spice blend was so well done, it deserved a bolder kick. But the real showstopper was the baigan bharta. I got it spicy, though it wasn’t quite as hot as expected—but it was still hands down one of the best dishes I’ve ever eaten. Smoky, savory, perfectly seasoned—every bite was a joy. I’ll definitely go up a spice level next time. Portion sizes strike a good balance: generous without being overwhelming. I didn’t leave with leftovers, but I also didn’t leave hungry. The tandoori roti was a delicious vegan-friendly bread option (since the naan is vegetarian only), and it paired beautifully with everything on the table. Service was friendly, attentive, and quick—another plus that made the experience all the better. If you're looking for incredible Himalayan flavors, especially as a vegan, don’t let the modest setting fool you. Taste of Himalayas is all about bold, satisfying,...
Read moreHad a terrible experience at this place. Went here on a Friday for a birthday dinner. It started off okay, the apps were fine. They lost power while we were there, which isn't their fault. But how they handled it was not professional. There were no flashlights or candles available. They were still able to bring out our dinner (should've been a warning sign in how they were able to prepare it so quickly and in the dark). We did not enjoy the food and no one came to ask if we needed anything.
We tried to cut them some slack since they were dealing with no power. But then when it was time to pay the bill, they said their machines weren't running to take our card. They asked us to leave our credit card number and they'll run it tomorrow (ridiculous ask for a customer). Then they proceeded to just tell us a number to pay the bill without any transparency or visibility into how they calculated it. We asked for a handwritten itemized bill that no one was able to provide. We had to get on the phone with the owner to finally understand how they calculated the bill. They added on 18% gratuity, which was also ridiculous to me considering the experience we just had.
Overall a terrible experience. We really tried to be understanding of the situation but the way handled it was not at all professional. It was not an enjoyable birthday dinner at...
Read moreThis place is absolutely awful when it comes to running a restaurant & take out orders. I do not like posting negative comments unless it is beyond reasonable. I spent $40 on my lunch plus a very generous tip for delivery. They barely divide the orders. We had to let them know in the past we are ordering for individual people in our office that take there food at different lunch times so we don’t have time or the bowls, plates, etc to divide everything up. I ordered the chicken tika & it said so on the styrofoam container. But no sauce. All the other orders had sauce. Was i supposed to poach some from someone else? The garlic basil naan was stale. This all happened today.
The last time I stopped in to pick up the order & the woman argued with me that I was early. She handed me the receipt & said look at the receipt. I told her that was some random number that seemed to just be near the current time. I showed the note section for the order & she took the order & noted the EXACT time I was arriving at that moment. She said I could just wait. I told her that was impossible as I was returning to work & could not be late. Hence the whole reason to order ahead. No consideration at all for peoples time. Don’t take carry-out if you are not able to...
