The market itself is very cozy and usually well stocked. I thought prices might differ from Safeway, but nope, Azteca also follows Napa Valley prices that do not reflect the customer's willingness to pay. The restaurant menu is good but has little options for vegetarians. That made my choices easy: Breakfast Burrito (only till 11) or Veggie Burrito. I got the Veggie and, beware, the size of that thing is HUGE! If you eat the entire burrito, you will skip dinner and won't eat until the next day. It wasn't a fantastic tasting burrito or anything but it was jam packed with veggies and rice and sauces so each mouthful is messy but wholesome. It's very hard to eat this giant burrito in a manner that doesn't drip down your chin, so ask for extra tissues!
Update July 2020: I've been coming here almost every single week ever since the pandemic started and it has become my go-to "pretend to be healthy by eating an overcalorific burrito disguised as healthy". Still, despite the condiments and excessive calories, a veggie burrito is still more nutritious than a fried burger. I've come here so frequently that I've added my own customizations: no cheese, no salsa. I don't like my burritos wet. It is now my goal to eat more at home than out but I like to think that I'm supporting my local businesses by buying so frequently at Azteca's. The workers are always so nice and friendly to me - I can see their smiles behind the mask and...
Read moreHi, there, I don’t usually give ratings but today 9/22 have comment! I ordered a 15$ super burrito Carne asada with everything on it and chicken Taco special. Asked for 2 hot an 2 mild taco sauces and had to pay a $1 each which caused some confusion among the staff who seemed confused and upset that I asked? I thought, hmm 🤔 but paid the extra$.
FYI-1 sauce is not enough for a big 15$ buritto or 5$ Taco….WHY?
When I got home-45 minutes away. Found out that they actually made a beef, bean and all rice burrito-no anything else in it as ordered from the wall. Missing the cheese, avocado, sour cream, salsa, lettuce etc=WTF, The chicken taco 5$ was actually a carne asada taco with a pint of green sauce and a finger snap amount or onion (not onions). The excessive sauce which meted the tortilla so much that my wife had to pour it in a cup to eat=WTF.
Adios to 22$-a disappointing visit. My BAD! Conclusion, be clear about your order $ check your bag and food ingredients...
Read moreToday’s visit was so disappointing. I usually stop by once a year with my dad to eat a chile relleno. I was in line to place our order and an older white man cut in front of us, the older Hispanic woman taking the orders noticed, looked at me and winked, then proceeded to take the man’s order. I can only assume that this man is a regular? However, there’s no excuse to allow someone to cut inline after all, a paying customer is a paying customer. We ate and after our meal my dad wanted a drink so I bought him one and I asked the same older Hispanic lady for a plastic cup and she wanted to charge me .50$, I rolled my eyes and said, “no”. What a disappointment. I’ve always been okayed with waiting for our food although, how long does it take to...
