I brought my kitten to Carol House pet clinic to be neutered. He had a good surgery and everything was pretty good in the beginning. 3 days after surgery I noticed he had a lot of discharge in his eye. I contacted and they told me it was probably because he couldn't groom himself with the ecollar on but to continue to monitor it. 4 days after he had been neutered, my kitten developed a large sore on the side of his lip (mouth). I took him to an emergency clinic where they said he had an infection and gave me antibiotics to give him. The next day my kitten stop eating and drinking water and was just sleeping all day as though he had no energy and then he started limping. I called Carol house again leaving a message of his symptoms asking to be seen. They called me back and told me that my kitten probably got herpes from his mother and that the surgery might have weakened his immune system so the herpes is coming out now. They told me I could bring him in to be checked by a doctor in the afternoon which I agreed to. A couple of hours later my kitten started constantly trembling and shaking and I felt extremely worried for him so I called another vet that was able to see me sooner. While I was at that vet a technician from Carol House called me and I told them I wouldn't be bringing my kitten as we were already at another vet because his condition had gotten worse. I told the tech I wasn't blaming them but that to ensure no other pets got ill they should make sure they are properly sanitizing the cages and the spaces the animals may share. The tech got extremely offended and told me they clean their cages with bleach and how dare I attack them and say my cat got sick at their clinic and hung up the phone on me. Several days later, my older cat now has a huge sore on her nose and her tongue and is not eating food or drinking. I called Carol House again and left a voicemail to tell them what is going on. After I took my second cat to the vet another technician who works at Carol's house called me and asked me what did I want from them, why did I keep calling them? She was just as rude as the first technician telling me my cat could not have gotten sick at their clinic and I needed to stop calling them, I asked for a number to a manager or their legal department but was told that I she would not give me that number and that someone would contact me. That was 4 days ago.
TLDR; I don't think Carol House Quick Fix Pet Clinic is a bad place. I think they do more good than bad. I think they are a good service to the community. However, the lack of empathy or compassion is why I am giving this a bad review. I had not 1 but 2 very sick cats. In the past week I have spent $1400 taking them to vet and having tests run, and getting medication. The fact that even if they refused to take responsibility for their contribution in my first cat getting sick. The fact that I needed help I need a bit of compassion and received absolutely NONE is why I wouldn't recommend this place. They talked to me so coldly and did not even ask or care about how my cats were doing, but just continued to tell me how my cat couldn't have possibly gotten sick at their clinic. That makes me question how they treat the pets when they are actually at the clinic. This is one experience, and I know this might just be the one bad review they have but this was my experience with them. I dont often leave reviews but it was so bad that I had to share that this is what happened to me. My 2 cats now have a disease they will have for the remainder of...
Read moreI was standing in line waiting to get my dog registered so she can get fixed. Young slim African American Female said social distancing and kept repeating it several times. I was at the green cone as I was instructed to be at. She kept saying social distancing to me. I told her I am social distancing. Even though I know St Louis County does not require these measures. I am very good at kenistics which include body language, verbal, nonverbal and so much more me being an ex officer picked up on these things. I believe she was racist towards white individuals. My alarm company called me to tell me that my dog's tag was scanned. We have these on all our labs. I am unsure why someone would scan her dog tag that has a QR Code on it. Carol House has been great until this episode. As I was picking her up I watched a video as I was instructed to. I couldn't take the overwhelming smell of what smelled like cat urine. I told the worker I will be stepping out of that room. The lady in front of me that we will call (Karen) kept saying that I was one of the last individuals. The worker said no he watched the video. He had a medical problem that's why he left the room. She said it twice thinning another person would override what the worker said to her. . They shuttle you in like cattle and the least thing they could have done is opened up the door since it was cold outside. But they waited to the second to open up the doors. I hope next time I have a great experience with Carol House. I also have a boat load of emails and calls people never responded back to me. One person quoted me 35 00 while another kept persisting 199 dollars. My mother had a check made out as a donation to Carol House because we know they do so much for the community....
Read moreIf zero stars were possible that's what this horrible place would get! Took both of my healthy happy cats to be neutered and both cats ended up sick from this clinic. One nearly died and luckily the other one I was able to keep from getting as bad as his brother who was hospitalized. Weeks of watching my fur babies suffer from being so sick. Missing two weeks of work and outrageous hospital bills. This clinic takes no responsibility even though my babies were completely healthy before they were handed over to them. They passed a wellness exam and were fine until they got home. Taking this to court. They have left this issue unsettled and only called after I emailed them about lawsuit but never once when I called ( numerous times yet they say they have no record of calls but I do have records) with concerns about them being sick after the initial call telling them they were sneezing and I was lied to and said it was from anesthesia which apparently it wasn't. Had I not listened to these supposed vets I could've prevented them from getting so sick. This office did not use proper procedures to keep my fur babies safe apparently from other sick animals that were supposedly kept away from healthy animals. And my situation is one of many as I found out after my horrible experience. They showed no concern for my cats at all. They have had months to respond after my last conversation but still haven't. Do not trust them with your fur babies. It will cost you thousands and lots of heartache watching your...
