I knew I was going to be disappointed when RumChata was proudly displayed behind their bar.
I asked for Planters Punch and was directed to try the sex on the beach. What???
This is more of a midwest Margarittaville as opposed to a rum bar that takes itself seriously. Their use of the rum theme seems like a padding-- their 100+ rums are a gimmick to get people in because they don't use any of their 100+ rums in any interesting way.
Why are you using flavored cheap rum when you could easily use one of the unique rums and fresh juice? Why make every cocktail you have a sugar bomb when you could easily make your cocktail menu have balanced flavors.
I guess I expected this place to have interesting rum cocktails (tiki drinks, literally anything with a self respecting not flavored rum, not just super sugary?) since it boasted their run selection. They have a VODKA ting instead of a WRAY & TING WHICH IS THE UNOFFICIAL COCKTAIL OF JAMAICA??
If you like mediocre cruise ship cocktails (as the owners of this restaurant group must like), this is your place.
Honestly, I just wanna find who designed the cocktail menu and ask what they were smokin'.
Also, give your menu and promotional goods a once over? We counted Several typos.
The service is really great, at least. Come for the disappointment, stay for the kind and...

You can almost hear the waves as you look around at the beautiful pictures taken in the Virgin Islands. The bar is named after the famous RMS Rhone that sank off Salt Island in the Virgin Islands. There is a huge selection of over 100 rums to choose from, and their specialty island style drinks. I strongly recommend the Pain Killer made with true Pusser's Rum.
On old ships, the Purser was the person who handed out daily rations of rum or "bits" each day for the sailor's work. Many sailers back then had no test, and could only say "Pusser" instead of Purser...
I use to work on a cruise ship and spent 3 months in the Virgin Islands, they did a great job bringing those drinks to the Rhone Rum Bar. Great island feel, relaxing, great jerk chicken wings, and many other items to choose from. I...
Read moreEvery. Single. Time. I walk into a Hamilton-owned entertainment venue I think to myself: "This might be the greatest place in St. Louis."
This is another gem just down the street from Vin de Set and 1111 Mississippi. While the wine, brunch, and regional Italian pris-fixe menus of those two restaurants are amazing, this has it's own character and manages to be another gem.
This is the only place in St. Louis that makes me feel I'm home in Dallas, LA, or Austin. A little Caribbean flare and photography, bar games, volleyball, live music, and open air on a nice day (h*, it was in the 50s today and the open air from the lifting glass doors was warm enough in a t-shirt). Everything here was something special that made me feel like I was having fun in the sun when it was in the 50s in March in the...
