Local Harvest Grocery is a little neighborhood grocery store a few blocks from my home on Morganford. I had a new recipe that called for red curry paste, but at a surprisingly unfruitful trip to Trader Joe’s, I decided to call Local Harvest and see if I could pick it up there. Sure enough! They did not disappoint! The phone was answered quickly by an employee who said they did but then went to the shelf to make sure it was in stock, and she returned to the phone to tell me they did have it. On entering the store I was greeted by a small refrigerated section for fresh produce. Passed by some interesting selections of liquor and started down a short aisle that was simply a treasure of ingredients! I kept thinking of how many interesting dishes could be created with items from these shelves! It was hard not to spend time examining all the items on the shelves. Not finding the curry paste I asked the clerk who remembered my call and she cheerfully showed me the shelf where it was located. From organic items, health foods, kombucha, wine and liquor, frozen meats, dairy products, fresh bread to spices, it is amazing that such selection is contained in this very cozy grocery. The customer service was excellent. What a treasure in St. Louis. Excellent service. Call and order or go to walk up window. Great staff. ...

It became clear to me that they thought I was going to steal something because of my race, despite there being other shoppers present. This experience made me uneasy about shopping here, which is unfortunate because it is the closest grocery store to my home. During subsequent visits, the customer service has varied from good to somewhat...
Read moreThis little beautiful slice of heaven was the perfect pick me up. They have a fantastic selection and variety. I was slightly disappointed by the prices on some items, but understand the necessity. We had no issues navigating the store, finding what we were looking for, or using the 15% off coupon we had gotten from the farmer's market. I love that they sell local products and produce as well as some brand names. The only reason(s) I wont give it 5 stars: They had packaged food products resting on the ground in the middle of the isles to be shelved. Which was an accident...
