I purchased a Stansport wool blend camp blanket from Mountain Village Mercantile on 5/25/2025. Before buying, I specifically asked the lady at the counter if I could return the blanket after opening it, in case I didn’t like the material. She assured me that yes, returns were allowed. However, after opening the blanket that evening, I found the material extremely uncomfortable—itchy and rough, definitely not suitable for me. I didn’t even use it; I just folded it back and made the drive back to the store the next day to return it. To my shock, the man at the counter flat-out refused to take it back. I explained the situation, told him that I can return product by the lady at the counter the day before, and that the item was completely unused. He still wouldn’t listen. He just repeated ā€œno returnsā€ without any sympathy or willingness to help. It felt like they just wanted the sale and didn’t care at all about customer experience. This was honestly one of the worst retail experiences I’ve had in USA. The product was subpar, the staff gave conflicting information, and the customer service was cold and unhelpful. I’m now stuck with a product I can’t use and out over $40. Avoid shopping here if you expect any kind of accountability or decent customer service.

Mountain Village Mercantile is a convenient stop for locals and visitors alike. They offer a solid selection of wine, beer, and liquor to suit various tastes. You’ll also find fun apparel like hats, shirts, and cozy hoodies. Basic groceries, including eggs, are available for quick meal needs. For hydration, they stock plenty of bottled water. Kids will love the random water gear and toys on offer. The store’s variety makes it a go-to for essentials and more. Overall, it’s a charming, well-stocked mercantile for mountain adventures! Little pricey.

Mountain Village is the place to go in Stanley if you need a grocery store. The staff has always been friendly and the store generally stays supplied with the basics. Selection is not great and the prices are inflated, but that's to be expected in a small isolated recreational town like Stanley. I've been shopping here for over 20 years and it's my go to place when I'm in pinch for food, ice, toilet paper, etc.

Instead of speaking English, they were quite obviously speaking another language about people around them when they could obviously speak English because I heard them speak English and they spoke it to me so when I said it to somebody that works there that spoke English, she called me racist and told me I was never allowed in there. Well, I don’t wanna be in that store. Guess what this is America and if you need to speak your language to the people that you’re speaking to because they’re from your country too that’s fine but when I come up for you to check me out for you to speak to me, and your language is inappropriate Especially when you can speak English it’s rude and disrespectful and I was called racist but yet I’m the one that was in an American city going through a check out being spoke to in some other language. Just goes to show it Stanley, Idaho is the most unwelcoming place I’ve ever been in...

Watch out for these people they have clear prices posted for some things then when you go to the register they charge you $ 4.00 more. They can charge whatever they want. Most items dont have any prices listed so you wont know whats up until you check out. Someone ahead of me asked about a military discount and the guy with the beard acted like the person asking was a dirtball. Most of the people working in there act like theyre doing you a favor by taking your money. That worker needs an attitude adjustment especially for the millions of $ they rake in every year. None of us would be here without our military people. Everything is way over priced here pack your camp...
