I walked by here as a student and never entered. As an alumni, I never was around during the week when it was open. Finally got to stop on a day off before a football game. Really cool place. Self guided and very welcoming. I was particularly excited about the pocket guides to galls and leafminers. Here's an idea, the Cornell Lab of Ornithology made the Merlin app, an audio ID app for insects, particularly what is heard in the late summer and fall (crickets, cicadas, katydids), would be really cool!

A hidden gem! Artful and interesting, with lots of engaging information. We stayed almost an hour- and it’s across the street from the creamery when you are ready for a treat. A pleasant, free activity for the whole family.

Tiny area. If there is more to it then it's not marked. Hallways were blocked off doors saying staff only etc. Very underwhelming.

So much to learn. I loved seeing how student research is making a real impact in the community (like changing state protocol for handling bears with mange). Very relevant and interesting displays. The fabric dye made from insects was gorgeous. Dont let the austere entrance deter you. It's tiny but...

I used to take the kids to see the "bug" museum. They really enjoyed learning and the exhibits were informative. Unfortunately, the museum closed a few years ago with no re-opening planned. Not sure why, the one exhibition room seemed low maintenance. I guess they didn't...
