I seldom posted any negative reviews. I wish I could give zero stars for my experience this time. I want to make other shoppers aware of the lack of quality control and follow up care they have for their customers when problems arise.
Last month, I purchased a package of fried tofu from Jusgo Sugar Land store. I opened it immediately when I got home. The fried tofu was already covered with black mold. I called the store right away to inform them of this and for them to check all the packages on the shelf. I was told to bring the receipt next time when I come back to the store to get a credit.
The lady behind the counter was unbelievably rude when I returned and went to the customer service desk three days later. She blamed me and stated I should have checked the package when I purchased it and that they didn't have any problem with other packages on the shelf. From the picture you can see tofus were packed tightly together in the package. This makes it impossible to check all the contents without opening the package. According to her, their cashiers always check when checking out for customers. Anyone who has shopped here knows this isn't true. At this point, another employee came over and ask the lady to stop talking. He was professional and credited me for the package I purchased. However, I am still upset for the way the lady treated me. I then went to the shelf and picked up another package. This time, knowing how and where to look for the mold, I examined the tofu packages and saw they were also covered with black mold! They didn't bother to check after I called. I showed them the package and they didn't say anything. This store will knowingly sell mold covered products to their customers and blame you when you try to...
Read moreThe cleanliness of Asian supermarkets on Hwy 6 has always been an issue for me, and they have the food inspection scores to prove it. Food past its sell-by date is also an issue. It was so much better when it first opened when actually cared about stealing Ranch 99's business. Nowadays I mostly shop at JusGo because I'm walking off the food I just ate at the restaurants in front, and because it has better lighting. When I'm eating/shopping on the left size of the plaza I shop Ranch 99, because the difference is just that thin. For staples like Meat/Fish/produce/whatever I try to shop at Costco/Sams/H-E-B for what I can, because I trust that the food isn't well past its sell-by date. I surely hope that they don't do to the packaged meat/fish what Food Lion used to do back in the day, because the lackadaisical attitude towards expiry dates is highly suspect. They should implement a policy where employees get to take home any food that is demonstrably past their sell-by, because I bet that would improve their inventory management overnight.
The best thing I have to say about it is it's much better to have than the super dirty, broken and shady Gattitown that was there before it, which is faint praise indeed. I expect that the landlord must have been desperate to lease out that box on the cheap, because it's insane to open up next to a large store in the plaza which is pretty much the...
Read moreI like this grocery. It's clean and always fresh. However, this is my 2nd time to experience rudeness of the meat/ pork cutters here. They have this intentional discourtesy attitude. Those 2 staff seem to be always on the phone whenever I go there and looked like they don't want to be interrupted. Looked upset when I politely asked them to slice the chunk pork belly to about 8 pieces. Felt like they didn't want to cut it to around 1 inch thick. The 2 Meat Staff cutters spoke in a different language for me not to understand which was super disrespectful and rude, as if I asked an outrageous request of cutting the meat to an inch thick and then one of them told me they don't cut that size and insisted I buy a more expensive per pound meat instead. I declined so I just settled to how thick they preferred to cut the meat I was buying. No need to argue with them. Maybe they should just be at the back office of your meat section and not in the main area dealing with customers. Less interaction. Rudeness is always bad for business. Might bring bad luck for their rudeness and crude attitude. Just be careful when you buy meat there. Be ready for rudeness. But the rest of the store we...
