We went to the Keemat Grocery store on Sugarland today (06/02) and bought some items worth ~$70.
Out of the items, we got three pickles from the Priya brand, which had a sticker stating, "Buy two, get one free, $2.49/piece". The third pickle bottle must be free based on the sticker. However, at checkout, the person at the counter needed to learn how to process this offer (fair enough) and asked for assistance from the other staff. For whatever reason, the other staff rudely said the offer only applies to products sold in India. I countered by saying that it was impossible as the sticker on the bottle mentioned the $ prices, and it is impossible to sell those pickles locally in India for domestic consumption. The person at the counter accepted this point but was overruled by the other staff. They started conversing rudely about us in Hindi, thinking we didn't understand the language.
Ultimately, I declined to purchase the pickles as a matter of principle. I could have paid the extra $2.50 for a third pickle bottle, but I refuse to buy from a business that treats its customers rudely and refuses to honor the listed offer. I wish I had declined to buy all the other items as well. Anyway, I will not be returning to this store ever again. Thankfully, we have plenty of other stores in the area to serve all our Indian grocery needs.
Kudos to the store in losing a...
Read moreWorst store- plenty groceries; overly priced; no customer service at all- no help if you can't find something. Fresh vegetables not so fresh. The snack bar (sort of), food sometimes not covered properly. They weigh the food ; but customers cannot see the screen; customers have to take their word as to how much something weighs and they charge customers per lb of something BUT the item does not weigh a lb. No way for you to verify. Had bad experiences couple of times at the snack counter at the back where kitchen is; especially with the short haired stocky woman. Tried to reach Mr. Anil who is Manager; he never comes to the phone. There are plenty other similar layout stores that one can now go to-- why go to those stores where the store wants to make money but does not want to deliver goods appropriately to the...
Read moreKeemat Grocers is a good place to shop groceries but not a good place to pick up food from their kitchen . Their samosas , are open , have a hole , which means all the oil went inside while frying .No wonder, you feel heavy and sick after eating their samosa. Since people eat at their place inside store , because of the brand keemat , the management should also focus on quality of food , quality of service. A year ago , I was getting lunch to go , there was a man patrolling and stated people are filling too much food , so he stands there . Later they changed to where they fill lunch to go . I stopped eating their buffett after instance when they had an employee stalk as you fill your lunch box to go . On another note , this keemat prices are way more than their location...
