Pull off the road and drive the loop! Once on the dirt road go to the boardwalk. It’s worth walking the short but fantastic boardwalk loop. Also make sure to download the app “Guide Along” and play it over your speakers for the entire area. It’s like having a tour guide in your car. Worth every penny. Kids now want to visit everywhere with it!

This was a great road trip from Houston, being from mn it was really fun to drive through a bit of the bayou look for shells on the gulf coast and take the 3 mile loop while driving it there were an abundance of birds but the 20+ gators in the wild tops it all, not to mention Mardi gras in lake Charles, go visit!

A long time ago, I would've given it 5 ☆'s. Holly Beach was packed with cabins, and teenagers and adults partied on the beach. That doesn't happen anymore.
