Me and my boyfriend stayed a few nights back and we were not happy. NATS EVERY WHERE! The room was OK minus the smell of mold. The ladies on the desk can be quite condescending. A $5 charge for parking is ridiculous in SULPHUR. The cleaners are rude and felt the need to argue about God knows what early in the morning where people could hear. There are 3 cleaners that could use an attitude adjustment. The breakfast was GREAT. The serving people and kitchen people were wonderful to us. Maintenance men were walking around a lot but they were so sweet even when they were busy. I'm not sure what management are doing but retrain your receptionists and cleaners. The rooms are clean but the attitudes stink and the way we were spoken to by desk staff was horrible which is strange considering you get paid to stand still and smile which makes me wonder why all the ladies always look tired or slouchy. You have done nothing but put people in rooms all day why are you limping? There's a member of staff that we couldn't really understand. English would be great especially on loud busy nights. Emma seems to get flustered when she's asked a simple question. But your the manager? Another one of the ladies is talking on her phone the hole time she's working. She probably thinks she can't be seen because she is a tiny young lady but also young. She can be trained to do better. Very rude and unprofessional though. It's also loud on the weekend. It sounds like they have rock bands playing bad rock music. If you want to be treated with respect by staff that know what their doing and that are friendly go elsewhere. If you want peace and quite go elsewhere. If you like seeing people that look like death all day or a manager that knows nothing or cleaners that are rude and argue and act like they are wrestlers then it's the...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying this hotel that exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I walked into the lobby, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The first thing that caught my attention was the comfortable beds in the rooms. After a long day of traveling, it was a relief to sink into a plush mattress and drift off into a peaceful sleep.
Speaking of the rooms, they were well-maintained. The attention to detail was evident, from the tasteful furnishings to the spotless bathrooms. It was clear that the hotel took pride in providing a clean and comfortable environment for their guests.
One of the highlights of my stay was the friendly bar tender at the hotel's bar. Not only did he make delicious cocktails, but he also went above and beyond to ensure that I had a great experience. He was knowledgeable about the drink menu and was happy to offer recommendations based on my preferences. His friendly demeanor and excellent customer service truly made a difference in my overall stay.
Another reason why this hotel is my top choice is the convenience of having a restaurant and bar right on the premises. After a long day of exploring the city, it was nice to have the option of dining in without having to venture out. The restaurant offered a diverse menu with a variety of delicious options, and the bar had a great selection of drinks to choose from.
Overall, my experience at this hotel was exceptional. The comfortable beds, nice rooms, and friendly bar tender made my stay truly enjoyable. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient...
Read moreIf you are looking for a Hilton property near Lake Charles… stay across the street at the Hampton Inn. We stayed at both within a matter of days, and the experience was night and day. We were excited to try the “new” Double Tree, but we’re greatly disappointed upon our arrival. Although the beds were made, the rest of the room looked uncleaned. The shower was moldy and had hair balls in it. The refrigerator had someone else’s leftovers along with a pile of dirty clothes stuffed in the closet. No laundry bags and only 2 towels for a 2 queen room. We slept fine however. The next morning, we went down for the $15 breakfast buffet (Kids do eat free, so there’s a star for that). Some of the buffet was missing serving utensils and the bread items were pretty stale. The waffle maker worked and they did have a good selection of yogurts. Next we hit the pool up-it is NOT indoor, but rather covered but it is heated. There were no pool towels and there was used cigarettes and someone’s dirty wet clothes left behind as well. Throughout the morning, we saw a group of employees lounging around the lobby without a care and I honestly felt bad asking for help when we needed towels/laundry bags etc. This is a new, nice property but that’s where the good ends. It seems as if management does not care about the Hilton Double Tree brandname and is hanging on to the fact that the property is new. Our experience at the Hampton Inn across the street was so much better and it comes with...
