At first it seemed to be a OK place to stay since they welcomed pets. I have a small teacup Yorkie. Well mannered and trained to do his business on layed out pads. My issue with staying at this particular Red Roof Inn was with the staff. As I was trying to sleep not once but a few times was awakened by someone trying to enter my room. If it wasn't for the top slide latch they would have succeeded into my room. My Lil Yorkie made his presence with his bark. So the person on the other side of the door left us alone. About 20 minutes later as I was drifting my way to sweet dreams ANOTHER person tried to make their way into my room this time I got out of bed to see who and ask what they wanted. Looking through the peep hole I see a man standing there. So I asked what he wanted he said he needed to spray for roaches. I told him that I was calling front desk to verify. So I did. They acted like they did not know what I was talking about. 3 minutes later got a knock at the door this time it was 2 men I did open the door because one of the men looked like the person that answered the phone. (Of Indian descent)! I was holding my teacup Yorkie he told me that I needed a cage to put him in while the other guy sprayed for roaches. I'm thinking to myself, "he must be freaking kidding me." I asked them to give me 20 minutes so I could at least brush my teeth, wake up,etc. I called front desk to let them know that I was ready for the guy to spray for roaches. Process only lasted like 5 minutes. The very next early morning, Again someone was trying to enter my room. This time I wrote a note saying to please Do Not Disturb. I was resting and/or sleeping.I taped the note where they couldn't slide the key card to gain entry. 30 minutes later I heard the tape being pulled off so I ran to the door unlocked it to find 3 staff members outside in front of my door. So I asked them what they wanted to please leave me alone I was trying to sleep. The housekeeper says I put you one of our Do not disturb sign. I told her if I had one in the first place I would have used it!! Geez!!! I can not wait to leave this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf you remember the hotels from 20-30 years ago...Red Roof Inn...FORGET IT. This place is absolutely disgusting. And this isn't one room or one incident. The first thing you see when you walk into the lobby is the roof falling down and every single hotel supply sitting there like it's their closet. The first room I got the key to had feces around the toilet stained sink, and hair ALL over the tub with stains all over the bathroom as well. Holes in the walls, trash all OVER the hall ways, pot, dogs barking all over, people with open doors partying and drinking. Black mold coming out of air vents. Black burn marks coming out of the electrical sockets. If I wasn't so dead tired on my feet, I wouldn't have taken the second room. The guys that work the plants in this area have trashed this hotel. But it's not their fault. It's absolutely the management of this "no tell motel". For not repairing ANYTHING, for renting out their rooms to seedy characters, hiring so called "maids" who they pay so little that they couldn't care less about the rooms, for not making sure that their clerks are making sure that there is ZERO TRASH outside on the property.... BLAH BLAH BLAH and so on. If you're looking for a cheap motel with some hookers and dope, this is THE place for you. Just because you don't charge much for your rooms ($68) DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOU TURN A TRUSTED BRAND NAME INTO A LOW CLASS HOSTEL. The only people I recommend this rat trap to is the guys working the plants. Get...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI haven't stayed at a Red Roof in a long time due to past poor experiences with the chain. I gave this one a try because it had great recent reviews and the price was right. I'm glad I did! This was the nicest Red Roof Inn I've ever stayed at. The location was great, the hotel and parking area were bright and clean, the room seemed recently redone -- love the wood floors. The bed was comfortable, I appreciated there being a mini-fridge, and the coffee downstairs was WONDERFUL. You never get good coffee at a hotel!
There are a few things that were negatives, one being the noise level from the traffic outside (pro tip: turn the AC fan from Auto to On so it runs continuously, that does the trick), another being the freezer part of the fridge was recently defrosted and water was pooled in it. Also, be prepared for them to put a $100 charge on your card (more than the room cost!), to be refunded after your stay, in case of any room damage. I typically stay in higher-end hotels that don't do this, and while this temporary hold wasn't a problem, I was surprised by it and thought it was worthy of mention.
These negatives were so minor, I did not drop my rating down from a solid 5. I would stay at this location again and wanted to say thank-you to the management and staff. This was above and beyond my best experience at a...
