Updating to share they did open before noon just not at 11 AM. And they were phenomenal dealing with my neurodivergent self buying a PS five for the first time I didn’t know what I was doing they were extremely patient. I am not showing up to places when the Internet said they open at 11 and I’m just making other people aware sign I was grateful they open before noon. So they still get a five star review for me I just want people to be aware most of the GameStop don’t open till noon. This was the exception according to Google Google has it wrong game stops not at fault They were phenomenal. I purchased a very large purchase the most I’ve ever I’ve spent a lot of money with them over the years but it always feels like the biggest purchase. I am not the person that does the gaming I’m just the mom I’m neurodivergent. Walking into that store I am still so confused about gaming in general I’ve tried learning for my autistic son sake. I have spent hours watching and learning the differences it still is confusing for me my brain doesn’t work like he is smarter than I am This and the one on Dorchester Road they have treated me nothing but kindness. I’ve gone into a GameStop while my dog was having emergency surgery it was” a routine appointment” and I couldn’t go home because they told me to say goodbye to my dog and I still had to go to GameStop for my son because it was “a routine appointment” then Turned complete emergency and I couldn’t fathom going home so I was in robot mode and still went to GameStop The manager saw me knew something was wrong Went out of their way to be kind to me I should leave that at that store on Dorchester Road. That act of kindness giving me chocolate. Offering a hug. Giving me their phone number. It was nothing like inappropriate at all it (was another woman Seeing me have like a mental crisis in that moment) I think she saw that I was just a mom and I still had to show up for my son and get something for him because I knew you would be Ripped apart if that dog didn’t come home that day. Weirdly some of our fond memories are in GameStop it’s something I can bond with my son over we don’t have a lot in common and I’m trying really hard to learn all about what he loves. And GameStop the employees the managers have all helped me so five star review this and I will leave one at North Dorchester. PS the dog did come home, keeping him comfortable it’s terminal. he’s not suffering. He has a one in 1 billion conditions yes we found out there’s more than one. That active kindness at GameStop that day has lived on and I have never forgotten. I will make sure I leave that at the location that happened at. I didn’t do it that day I was in crisis mode bringing home a dog from anesthesia it was still touch and go.

I got an email thanking me for my Google review I forgot I made this I panicked because I had such a great experience by my son’s PS five for his birthday. I was able to to get a new one. I didn’t even think they had refurbished ones in stock because the Internet said they didn’t go for the new one. Because I had coupons. Matthew seemed to not want to deal with me and my family. We went to return a game that was ordered online and Matthew seemed as if that was an inconvenience to him. When we entered the store we weren’t greeted, However every family after us was greeted with a smile and kindness. Even when we got to the register he had no intentions on trying to assist our needs.

I asked Matthew about the SSD external drive because I purchased 1 before and it didn’t work for my ps5 games. Matthew ensured me that it “should” work and he don’t see why it shouldn’t. So I get home and plug it in trying to download the new games I bought because my console storage is full, unfortunately it doesn’t support PS5 games although on the front it states “PS5 Compatible “ meaning it should be able to download PS5 games l. However when it states PS5 compatible, it means that you are able to download PA4 versions of the game to your PS5 console.

This being Mathew expertise I listened to him and spent $90 on a product I can’t use, per GameStop you can’t return an opened item. This is misleading to the customer, especially when the crew or floor person is trained to deny a customer a refund based off their expertise that’s inadequate.

I will never purchase anything else from GameStop. I’ll stick to Walmart or Amazon where I can return something that I can’t use!

I stopped by to pick up my order, and the employee was telling me he needed to see my name on the order when they've only ever asked for the order number and the name isn't even on the order when you place it on the app. Upon grabbing my order he made a remark saying "Jesus 4 battle stadiums?" As if it was any of his business what I order with my money, and clearly he's clueless because that's the promotion that was being ran (buy 3 get 1 free). I thought it was unprofessional and he needed to keep his thoughts to himself, all he needed to do was read my order number and give me my purchase, nothing else. He was talking about how he had a second job with his coworker the whole time and complaining that his manager had to sign off on it. Clearly he needs to focus on getting better at one job and the customer relations side of it before looking elsewhere. This happened today like 25...
