UPDATE: My favorite hot sub place just lost another star in my book. They recently updated their app. It was a horrible rollout involving weeks of the app being unavailable. It's now been a few weeks since the rollout bugs should have been straightened out. But I opened the app today and immediately encountered problems. I keep coming back because of the consistently delicious hot subs (& pickles, of course), but please don't make it such a chore to use your app. Right now, I feel that the updated app is very counterintuitive and user-hostile.
PREVIOUS REVIEW: Well, my review for this place just went from a 5-star to a 3-star. We visited a couple of days ago, and even with only 1-2 orders ahead of us, it still took staff almost 20 mins. to get our order out. The main reason for fewer stars, however, is that they actually made a small sandwich (which is supposed to be 4" long) that's just a little over 2". I'm attaching a photo. Not happy. Please do not try to pass this off as a 4" sandwich. If it's too small, please don't serve it. Thank you.
I do, however, still love their Steak & Cheese sub. The Hook & Ladder and the Meatball subs are also quite tasty.
We've always ordered small drinks with our combos because we eat in. But I understand you can get any size drink with your combo for the same price. Not sure...so check with the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI ordered the limited time Pub steak sub with beer cheese to go. I got home 15 minutes later, to open the carry out box only to find the sub was missing the beer cheese. Sadly, the sandwich was made and handed to me by the acting manager. I called back to the store to voice my disappointment, and as the same acting manager was discussing the error, she said " You are telling me you ordered the sub club?". I had to explain the situation to her twice before she understood the issue. She blankly apologized and said she would make note of the error in the store journal so when I returned I could have the sandwich remade for free. But since she didn't really understand the error and she was the person that made it to begin with I really doubt it was recorded into the store journal. I asked for a manager to contact me and she told me one wasn't available other than she. And that she was really just a shift leader. Instead of taking my info for a manager to contact me, she referred to the store journal again. It will be quite some time before I return to this location ever again. I am out 12 dollars for the purchase of the gross dry sandwich that was made...

I asked the cashier if the sub was free, and he said he thinks so. Well, the receipt printed out and her sub was not free. Paid full price. Told the manager and he couldn't even make things right. He had to call his GM to authorize a refund. Low and behold the GM didn't answer so he told us that he would have them make a free sub for her on our next visit. Didn't receive anything stating that in writing. He just told me his name and to tell them that he said to do so. Well that is convenient if I go back to that specific location. I do not live close to that one and I will have to pass at least 3 other firehouse restaurants on the way to that one. They also were kind of loud and obnoxious behind the counter. That's understandable being that it is a group of younger people running the show there. Despite all this, the food is always good and I prefer it over the other...
