I came in to this barber for a quick, simple cut. As soon as i walked in, I was thrown off by the lack of customers besides myself. As I peered around, I saw their price list, which stated a haircut was $16 dollars. For a low end place, this price was higher than I expected, and it was one of the priciest haircuts I recieved. Despite all of these red flags, I decided to give it a chance.
I was attended to by an elderly Asian man, who could not speak English very well. He asked me what type of haircut I wanted. Knowing that most barbers could work off of pictures, I decided to show him one from a few months ago. The picture was from when I had received a great haircut for $9. The haircut was a basic combover. My barber looked at it for approximately 2 seconds, and simply said no. Taken aback, I decided to ask why. He claimed it was too complicated. For someone who looked like an experienced barber, it seemed that he had no discernable skills. I decided to describe the cut, that I wanted my sides short and the top a little longer. I also mentioned the price I had received that haircut for, to prove that it was very basic. In a rude tone, he snapped at me, saying I should back go to wherever I got that from. Staying calm, I told him to try it, assuming he was capable.
He took his time cutting my hair, luckily they have a TV that helped distract me. When he was done, I had a haircut that was very clearly not like the photo. Despite this, I thought it wasn't that bad, so I went ahead and paid my 16 dollar debt. To my surprise, it turns out they only accept cash. Writing this on the wall or maybe telling the customers beforehand would go a long way. I lucked out and found cash in my car, so I didn't have any issues.
To summarize: avoid at all costs. If you must go here, please do not receive a haircut from the elderly man, choose any other worker. Mediocre cut, but terrible customer service, and definitely not...
Read moreShowed up and an elderly Asian man was going to be my barber. He spoke almost no English, but I'm used to that. I brought pictures. Apparently he didn't speak pictures either cause he wasn't even close. First time I've ever had to ask a barber to try again. I had to have it redone twice here. It still sucked.
Oh, and I hope you like sitting in silence for twice as long as any other haircut you've ever received. The guy looks like he's been cutting hair twice as long as I've been alive, yet somehow never picked up how to do it well or quickly. I'd be fine with slow and nice, or fast and just decent. But slow and bad? Really?
What was my reward for such an unpleasant experience? Finding out that they are cash only. But don't worry, there's an ATM across the street where you can pay 3 bucks to have the privilege of being able to pay for your hair cut. Good luck finding it by the way. Remember, he doesn't speak English, so all I got is "ATM". Not "There's an ATM in the liquor store across the street", just "ATM", even when pressed to be more specific.
An absolutely miserable experience from start to finish that I wouldn't repeat if...
Read moreThis is such a cool place to have your Hair Cut for. I have been a regular customer of this shop from last 4 years, the thing that remains unchanged is the warmth of the staff and the way they handle each and every single customer. They are never harsh, understand customer's requirement always and provide services with best price. I would certainly not change my options for the time I am staying around...
