Guadalajara Market — Attraction in Sunnyvale

My apartment complex near the HWY -101 & Fair Oaks block often gets weekly flyers from local businesses from Safeway, Lucky to Guadalajara Market. At first, I was thinking this must be the on on Maude Avenue, but my GPS took me past Seto Fish and Chips on Borregas Ave to this little tiny plaza where Guadalajara Market is located.

Upon entering, you could sense authentic Mexican aura, where Mexicans & Latinos alike frequent. It felt a little foreign to me at first (being a non-latino), but after browsing the entire store, not very large in comparison to your typical supermarkets, but spacious enough to find your fresh meats & produces. I must admit it was a bit uneasy at first, because folks & cashiers speak Spanish, I was wondering if they can speak English. After finding what brought me here - weekly flyer specials on 67 fl oz Canola & Olive Oil Blend for $5.99 (normally upwards of $10 even at Walmart), and brought to the cashier, who stepped away at the time, however, another Mexican lady who manned the Money Wiring Service next to the register area, spoke in fluent English, "she will be right with you! That put me right at ease, as I wasn't sure if they can speak English. The cashier then showed up, and who was rather nice as well.

This is the best grocery store in Sunnyvale. The choice of fresh meat and cheeses is mind blowing. I'm a short term visitor in Sunnyvale but when compared to your usual US grocery stores, this one is in a league of its own. There is a separate bakery run by the sam family (I guess) that has just the best cookies, I especially recommend the fresh corn bread. If by any chance you want to get a piñata, they have a ton just hanging around ;) Speaking Spanish recommended but...

The store was well stocked and seems to have a lot of fresh produce. However, I didn't have a great experience checking out.

The lady named "Martha" at the check out bagged all of the items for the family in front of me and the family behind me but she didn't lift a finger for the few things that I had.

Not sure what the issue is but she came off quite rude. It's unlikely that I will go back.
