/* 👎👎😤😤2nd Updated 😤😤👎👎*/ Again, as my previous reviews indicate that I'm a long time customer of Wolfe Indian Bazar for nearly 2, that's TWO, decades. It used to be one of my favorite places to do my fresh produce grocery shopping. In the last couple of years, since this older aged woman had taken over, hiring these clueless female helpers, it has turned 180°👎👎😤😤 what the heck has happened to the little corner store I used to love & frequent daily. NOWADAYS, I only go if I only need one or two small items, eg. some cilantros or onion, I'd rather drive a mile down El Camino, and shop at India Cash & Carry, more varieties, better prices & they're all about customer experience. Unlike Wolfe India Bazaar, I bought a cilantro bunch & onions for probably a few dollars, and they want to charge me an extra 35¢ for using GooglePay, which can be used at India Cash & Carry NO MATTER what the purchase amount is. Wolfe India Bazaar's new ownership is just greedy, it's not the money, it's the way they make me, as a long time loyal shopperz feel. Now, I'm taking my business to India Cash & Carry, and so should you!
/👎👎Updated Review 👎👎/ Today I came simply to get a bunch of cilantro for my homemade salsa, after picking up a bunch, I went around the back of the store where sometimes you can find perishable produce on sales due to broken into pieces, or softened too much due to time on the shelves. These prices typically are marked in GREEN marker right on each bag, from okras, to green beans, etc. Today I came across a bag of Chinese bitter melon marked in green ink 99¢ to the cashier. As I placed on the counter, I even DELIBERATELY oriented the 99¢ price towards her. She uttered something I couldn't quite make out, as I had my Bluetooth headsets on. Then, she proceeded to put the bag on the scale (WHY? It's a FIXED price, Lady‼️‼️ - YOU guys put the price there, not the customer!) Then, she went ahead and charged me PER pound, nearly 3 times what the bag says. I protested, then she backed off saying that's why she asked where I got the bitter melons from. Lady, it's YOUR store, YOUR price tag, charge the customer what the price tag says. If unsure, you should always give customers the benefit of the doubt instead of trying to rip them off. C'mon NOW, I've been a loyal customer since 2005! Boy, do I miss the way it used to be run br a tall slightly overweight large lady, she was so witty & smart, everything just ran smoothly. Ever since the new lady owner, and her hired helping friends, boy, not only they jacked up the prices sometimes out of the blue, sometimes by 50% overnight!
/* 👌👌👌Prior 3-* Review 👌👌👌*/ It's a little grocery fresh produce store tucked in the corner of the plaza at the intersections of Old South San Francisco Road & Gail Avenue in Sunnyvale. It used to be run by this slightly chubby Indian gal, who had been there at least a decade, but she went back home to get married, and now the store is run by a middle aged woman with glasses who's not as friendly, more business-like fashion, than the aforementioned gal.
Produce-wise, it's the best place to get your cooking fragrant, the onions, garlic, ginger, and absolutely the best deal is the Cilantro, 39¢ EVERYDAY!!!!
Since the store is quite small, their produce selection isn't what you want, for that I'd go to something like India Cash & Carry or Felipe's Market, both have much...
Read moreProduce is good but not the best. I’ve found rotten tomatoes and moldy onions on several occasions. The customer service here is terrible. I’ve been yelled at for not putting diffident color bell pepper in a separate bag. I don’t see the point in bagging one yellow bell pepper. They often toss the produce on the table after you’ve spend a while picking out produce. In another case I told them they charged me a different price than the one posted, the manager said it was my fault. They have also pressured me to buy more so they don’t get charged when I pay with my card. Always make sure to count your change because none of the women working know how to count correctly. They have short changed me many times. In all honesty the workers putting out the produce are kinder than the cashiers. As you can see other people who shop here are disappointed with the service, the manager should train her employees properly, with good customer...
Read moreI have been shopping here consistently for 5 years now and it is one of the best Indian stores with respective quality and price. When you enter it looks like a small store, but if you look carefully at every item they have, it is amazing to see the selection they store! They maintained their momentum during the pandemic by practicing safety of the customers without compromising on the quality, selection and price of their products. Recently they start selling Indian fresh and hot snacks! The veggie cutlets are amazing but do call them before you go to buy as they sell...
