Syco Escape Rooms — Attraction in Sycamore Township

Our family has probably done near 40 escape rooms in 5 different states over the past several years. We have seen very good rooms and we have seen rooms that could stand an update or two. Syco Escape Rooms is one of our family's favorites and ranks near the top of our list.

The rooms were of high quality and everything in them was clean and functioning properly (which should be very important to players and owners alike). Our family of 5 did two rooms (First, Quest for the Throne and then Prison Break). They have a third room with a baseball theme that I would love to do, but it is described as a beginner's room, so we will probably save our money and bypass that one.

It seems to be a family run business, so it felt nice to support a business like this in these troubling times. We were met at the door by one of the sons and later on we met his mother. Both of them were extremely pleasant to talk to. They answered any questions we had about the room afterwards and we talked about how the room was built and turned into what it is today. I always find it fun to discuss these types of things when time allows.

They had a very nice leaderboard monitor which was instantly updated with our times while we were there. They keep track of weekly, monthly, yearly and all-time leaders which was kinda cool.

Of course with Covid rules in effect, we had to wear masks while in the "common areas" of their establishment, but were able to take them off once inside our room.

We had a great time at Syco Escape over the holidays. We played their seasonal-only Christmas themed room. It was my parents first time, and the perfect experience for them. There were a couple things we needed to use our clues for, but other than that, we figured everything out - just in time! Our Game master was great - she gave good clues, without giving anything away, and we got to chat with one of the owners at the front desk before we played! We will definitely be back to sample their other rooms - and if they have this room again next Christmas, be sure to check it out! *Update 3/25/23 - we returned to try out one of their regular rooms, and played "The Quest." We brought two newbie players, and we all had a great time! Fun puzzles, non-linear (which we like), and helpful "nudges" - without giving too much away. They also had a couple new puzzles I'd not seen before -and this was my 42nd room. Thanks again...

This is my first Google review but I HAD to come share how amazing this place is. First time at an escape room and have no desire to go anywhere else until I do all their rooms. Everyone is my group had so much fun, still texting about it. The people who worked there were so over the top nice and helpful. It was my sons birthday and they really went out of their way to make his night extra special. The clues and story lines are so cleverly done - 5 adults and 1 kid cheering and high fiving just crazy excited to figure out the clues and keep going. I have zero complaints. Its a must to go and check out in the sycamore are. Can not wait...
