This is where I call my church home and I am so thankful to do so. The mission and vision of "ending loneliness in the neighborhood" is clearly evident through the value invested into people of all ages and demographics in the Tacoma area. This can be seen from the friendly person welcoming you at the door and remembering your name on the second visit, the little kids running around spreading joy, thoughtful and personal prayers in every service, to the Pastor shaking your hand personally introducing himself to you. This is a highly spiritual community, less about religion, and more about being the hands and feet of Jesus - mobilized to bring light into a culturally diverse, and underserved community of Tacoma. I love that they reflect the trappings of what is most beautiful in faith, but also what is most impactful - which is friendship/fellowship, teaching and growth, and servitude. In spite of this I intend to come to this church once more with my wife for our last time together after 74 years. She has dementia but would enjoy it.
