I tried Cookie Dough delight on a suggestion from DoorDash while placing a dinner order. I’d never heard of them, but I enjoy a good artisanal ice cream and the flavors sounded good. I selected two flavors, berry cheesecake dough and mint chip. I sent a message to my delivery driver telling him I know that a lot of them hate ice cream orders, but not to worry because I wouldn’t complain if it was a little melted. I laughed to myself about that when I took a bite, because this stuff wasn’t going to melt - due to the fact that IT’S NOT ICE CREAM!
I’ve had cookie dough ice cream, and, while its novelty wore off for me many years ago, it’s still good. I thought I was getting something similar with the berry cheesecake dough flavor scoop, and then a scoop of mint chocolate chip ice cream. They were both dough! No ice, no cream, just 2 big scoops of dough. Don’t get me wrong, I like a bite or 2 of the dough when I’m baking cookies, but I don’t want to eat big scoops of it.
Maybe it’s well known that this place sells dough and not ice cream and I’m the last to find out, but it was presented to me as ice ream, so ice cream is what I was expecting. I think my 3 star rating is generous, but I don’t want to trash a business for doing something different. If I’d knowingly ordered 2 scoops of dough, I guess I might have been happy with I got. As it is though, my wife, my 9 yr old, my 6 yr old, and myself, couldn’t finish the cup together and opted for the cheap little sundae cups with the little wooden spoons and paper lids we had in the freezer for our...
Read moreI've been holding onto a gift card for this place for the longest time and finally got to use it since I was in the area. Parking is kind of tight and you'll have to reverse into your stall at an angle; luckily when we went late Sunday there was some stalls open.
The place had no line when we arrived and we were greeted upon entry. I loved the aesthetic of the place and how detailed/appealing to the eye their menu options looked. Their prices are decent, and for the amount they give I say it's worth it.
The girl who helped us was friendly and patient with my husband and I since it was our first time deciding what we'd get. We both got a single scoop each of the s'mores and mocha delight, as well as a slice of birthday cake cookie dough ice cream pie.
The cookie dough scoops had a pretty smooth consistency. The pie slice was really good, I wish I had gotten one for myself! The girl had informed us that the cookie dough is good to keep in the fridge for up to 6 months which I thought was neat.
I'd love to go back again some day to try...
Read moreI LOVE cookie dough. And I love cookies. But I have never been to a place that sells cookie dough. I got a few free samples and instantly noticed how little texture and how soft the dough was. I was not impressed. I settled for Oreo and Monster flavor and was really surprised that it was not good. It was room temperature and soft like whipped frosting. They had Reese’s pieces in the “Monster” flavor but I could barely tell they were in there. It was mostly dough with no real chunks of anything.
My recommendation to the owner: double, no maybe triple the chunks of stuff in your recipes. It will give it flavor and texture. Also, consider chilling the dough. Not frozen like ice cream and not room temperature. But like it’s been in the refrigerator and slightly chilled. I think they could also add a level of “freshness” to a dessert that may turn people off if consumed at room temp (they may wonder how long has this been sitting out).
Sorry to rate this poorly. I was really hoping for something great. But this...
