Had my grandchildrens(4) portraits taken in the portrait studio. Ive been using jc pennys portrait studio since I was a child, so about 40years give or take a few. Overall, I've mostly been happy with the pictures. There has been few times that I was disappointed but I always give them second chance, then Im happy with the outcome. Its not always easy to go in for 2nd time when the pics have not turned out but I know how good they are when they turn out . Imo it has everything to do with the experience of the photographer. Im sad to say the most recent session with the grandkids, I am not impressed unfortunately. Since the children are all under 7, its very hard to do this a 2nd time.

If I could give less than 1 star for this "salon" I would. I was there for 4 hours and 45 minutes. After almost 4 hours she still hadn't completed the foils in my hair. The bleach bled and left me with awful results. Also made me an hour late for work due to her poor time management. Sharletha destroyed my hair and all I got was "that doesn't sound right" "I'll have to check into this" The pictures I'm including are the destruction and the repair. The left is what I left JCPenny with and the right is the correction done by Amber Mayerl.

This is purely for the Men’s Big & Tall. There were no pants over 34 length, and even the 34’s were incredibly hard to find. There were a lot of 29,30, 32 length. I’m 6’ 6”. In what world is 32”, much less 29”, considered tall? Unless they have a torso like a praying mantis… To be fair, every store was like this. So this is really a 2 star rating for the Tacoma mall and surrounding area. The extra star was because they had a decent selection of shirts. I just wasn’t shopping for one.

We had a terrible experience getting family photos done at JC Penney today. Our appointment was at 9:30 AM, but since the mall was closed, there were no instructions on where to go to get inside. I tried calling for help, but no one answered. They finally called me 5 minutes before the appointment to tell me where to go. By then, we were already out of the car, standing in the rain on the opposite side of the building. Packing back up and driving around seemed worse than just walking, so we had to trek all the way around in the pouring rain, soaked before the session even started.

When we finally got in, the first photographer was awful. It was obvious he didn’t know how to work with toddlers, which wasted precious time while our toddler had a meltdown. We just stood there, frustrated, with no direction from him. Thankfully, the manager stepped in and took over, and we were able to get a couple of usable photos.

After the session, we waited another 40 minutes just to pay for the photos. The card reader wasn’t working, but no one communicated what was going on. We stood around aimlessly, waiting for updates, while the workers clearly didn’t know what they were doing. The manager was busy taking photos for another family, leaving us to wait even longer. It was clear they were overbooked and understaffed.

The entire experience was frustrating from start to finish. Between the poor planning, inexperienced staff, and long waits, I can’t recommend JC Penney for family photos. Save yourself the stress and...

I wish I could leave zero stores for the experience I received at this location. The store is great overall expect for the cashier that checked me out. Her name is Sonya I believe. When I checked out she asked for my phone number for rewards and I confirmed it was me on the pin pad. My son wanted some gummy bears and she scanned them and as I went to give them to him she said “you should really pay for those first” I was a little confused and reply “I am going to pay for them” then she responds verbatim “We don’t know if your card will go through” I felt really insulted because if I’m there to shop and I am checking out what makes her assume that my card will not go through? At this point I’m very upset and just want to pay and leave when I tell her I would like to use my rewards keep in mind I have a JCPenney card so I do get these rewards often she tells me “are Jacqueline” I said yes she then tells me she needs to see my ID, since when does JCPenney check ID for a $10 reward?? I was not even using my credit card there was no reason to try to ID me I was extremely upset and took my things and went to a different cashier her name was dalayla that was extremely nice. Moral of the story your cashiers should not be assuming if customers cards are going to go through or not that is not there job there job is to give good customer service and two I should not be getting asked to show my ID to use my JCPenney rewards...

My 94 year old 5'1" mother went to this store and purchased a $1000 mattress and box spring from them. You know there's no training involved for these sales people when your little mother is delivered a bed that she has to use a step stool to get in and out of. We told them that the personnel sold her a mattress that was 11" tall with a 9.5" box spring. They said they would make it right by delivering a low profile box spring. After 4 weeks, she still hadn't received the the lower box spring. After multiple calls to the store we had to go back and speak with a supervisor. While there, the supervisor told us that the lower profile box spring would cut the total measurement down by only 3 inches (not near enough). We had to cancel the new box spring in hopes that we could find a lower one from another store. We have been messing around with these people since April 2nd. It is now May 27th. We called them twice to tell them to come pick up the tall box spring to no avail. This is a crazy way to do business. They still haven't picked up the cancelled box spring and still owe her $300.00 for the box spring they originally sold her, and the one we cancelled. Our family and friends will NEVER do business with these...
