Very disappointed to say the least…
I’ve been here for just a little over a year now and seem to go. Pretty smooth up until now. I’m very far from a difficult guy and their highest membership package and very rarely use the amenities if ever at all.
The reason that is mentioned is because my first month was the first month. They were in operations here in South Tampa, and I was gifted a free week of working out by the owner of this location so I decided to purchase the highest package for support.
I usually get to the gym in between 4 AM to 5 AM and have my work out with my headphones in and don’t have to speak with anyone and eventually leave.
Every now and then I’ll be stopped at the front and reminded that I have a bill that wasn’t made due to payment errors, After that discussion, I usually continue on my workout and submit payment either during my workout before I leave out of the building.
Today, I got my morning workout in, and decided to come back again this evening. This is where I was stopped by a young fella, who I believe, he believed, he was just doing his job. Unfortunately, some people don’t care much about the black-and-white lines and would much rather be treated as human.
We attempted to make payment at least four times on each system they offered at the front counter, and the payment was not going through due to their system. Errors, POS system errors. I pleaded with Young telling him that I would just like to continue forward with my work out and we can get this taken care of once my workout is finished because it’s been a long day. He let me know that I cannot get a work out, and he cannot let me pass the counter if there is any payment issues, which, I have not had a problem with any of the other times. There was an issue. Therefore, once we finally figured out the POS system, I canceled my membership, with respect that matter, I take my money and services elsewhere, in an instant.
I have 30 days left with them, I will be going back for my morning workouts to get my moneys worth and luckily, I usually don’t have to Deal with that kid in the morning. Therefore, I will be finding a new gym, preferably a smaller one, because corporate companies seem to not have much respect.
I’m not upset, just very disappointed. You guys have to do better because we lost a good...
Read moreDear EOS Fitness Management,
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with an incident that occurred on around 9:20 PM at the front desk. While waiting to purchase a Gatorade, I noticed that Lauren (I hope I’m spelling her name correctly), who was managing the front desk, appeared overwhelmed with customers. Despite this, she remained professional and worked hard to assist everyone.
Unfortunately, what stood out was the lack of support from another staff member, identified as Doug, whose name tag indicated he is the PT Director. While Lauren was clearly handling a busy front desk alone, Doug left his station and appeared to prioritize chatting with another customer—a woman who then cut in line ahead of me. Doug returned to the desk but proceeded to prioritize her over the others who had been patiently waiting, including me.
What made this interaction more frustrating was that Doug seemed to offer preferential treatment, appearing to hook her up with a free drink, which, frankly, came across as unprofessional. To make matters worse, he made an unnecessary joke about her “jumping in front of me,” which made both of us uncomfortable.
I want to emphasize that my concern is not with the other customer—she even apologized for cutting in line, which I appreciated. The issue is with Doug’s unprofessional behavior and lack of awareness in handling the situation. His actions reflected poorly on him and the male staff at EOS Fitness as a whole. It’s disappointing to see favoritism take precedence over professional courtesy and teamwork, especially when another employee, like Lauren, was clearly in need of support.
On a positive note, I want to acknowledge Lauren and Nadia for their exceptional customer service. They consistently greet me warmly, make me feel welcome, and provide a great experience every time I visit. Their professionalism is commendable and should set the standard for all staff members at EOS Fitness.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously. Staff should treat all customers with respect and professionalism, and male employees, in particular, should exercise greater discipline to ensure the gym is a welcoming space for everyone.
Thank you for addressing this matter. I look forward to seeing improvements...
Read moreBy far the worst experience I’ve EVER had while looking for a new gym. Just moved to the Tampa area, signed up for the FREE 7 DAY PASS online and I was willing to pay for a day pass if needed because I understand a lot of gyms no longer honor free day passes. Came in Saturday night to the Dale Mabry Hwy location, the tall guy working the desk told me to just go on ahead. No hello, no greeting, no asking how he can help me. I asked if I needed to sign a liability waiver, knowing I hadn’t signed one except for the one online, and he said told me No. The next morning (Sunday) I came in and the same guy was working yet he acted completely brand new. Again no smile or greeting when I came in. Had me sign in on an iPad, no problem, but then another girl took me over to her desk. Extremely rude and unprofessional. I handed her my ID and she told me I was no longer welcome because I do not have a Florida ID. Even though I had been in the night before with no issues. I just moved to Tampa a week ago give people some time! I offered to show her my LEASE AGREEMENT proof that I live here but she told me I could just go to another gym. Nowhere online does it say I have to have a Florida drivers license. I was not offered a tour of the gym, we did not even go over prices. Not my fault he didn’t want to do his job he would’ve rather have talked to his friends. Please avoid EOS Fitness at all costs. The staff does not know what they are doing and it’s scary to think they let people in without them actually signing into the front desk. I’ve worked in the gym industry for 9 years and I’ve never seen such a poorly managed gym in my life. To not even acknowledge someone walking through your front doors is a huge indicator the gym is not a very welcoming place. There is an LA Fitness or Crunch down the street if you’re looking for a low cost membership but...
