Harbor Lite Motel — Attraction in Tampa

The staff was very friendly. When I called to ask about a reservation, the gentleman at the desk said yes he would have a room on the days in question and asked for my name and phone number, but not my credit card. He just asked me to call when we were on our way. ||We arrived without calling, and he told us our room would be ready around 3, which was no problem, since we were going sight seeing anyway. This motel only has 9 or 10 rooms, which makes it really the right size in my opinion.||Our room was cute, containing a microwave, refrigerator and cable TV. There was no bathtub, just a walk in shower. The shower door was broken, and had a shower curtain on the inside of the shower. (Not a deal breaker for us) The floor of the shower was perfect, all be it slick. Be careful :-)||The room was very clean. They did offer house keeping the first day, but we can make our own beds and put our trash in the dumpster, so we declined. We did exchange our towels daily. ||This motel is on a main road, so there is traffic noise, but the motel itself was quiet. ||The motel is close to several restaurants and was very conveniently located for our purposes.||I would definitely recommend this place. Remember, though, this is not a 5 star place, so don't come here...

Based on the reviews posted on TripAdvisor, I had expected an older motel, but well maintained place. However, that was really not the case. || Although the staff were very friendly and accommodating, I feel I need to do an honest evaluation of this motel for the sake of those considering stay here.|| I have to say the bathroom was sub-par at best. The water pressure was almost non-existent -- taking at least 10 minutes to obtain water warm enough for hand washing. We did not use the shower at all since it seemed to have part of the floor missing and looked scary-- mold? Fortunately, we had friends in the area who were willing to let us shower at their place.||The microwave interior looked like it had some sort of melt-down -- huge gaping hole where the plastic piece covering the zapper should have been. Afraid to use. Rather than subject us to potential radiation, decided to utilize McDonald's down the street for coffee and oatmeal in the mornings.||The beds were fine and the area was safe.
