River Tower Park — Attraction in Tampa

Nothing going on in the park today - no festival or market or party. It's a weekday and that's okay with me as I was here to visit this massive structure that is visible for a couple of miles.

The Sulphur Springs Water Tower is 214 feet (65 meters) tall with a foundation 45 feet deep and has a capacity of 200,000 gallons. It was built in 1927 over the opening to an artesian well.

It's an impressive structure that, unless the park somehow is developed into a mixed use condo/retail, should be here for decades thanks to some very heavy duty...

If you've never attended a Pops in the Park with the Florida Orchestra, you're missing a treat! We try to attend every year especially when its at this location. River Tower Park allows for nearby parking and plenty of space to spread out, whether on blankets or folding chairs. Some guests even have tables set up for their picnic spread. We always pack drinks and snacks but there are food trucks. Plenty of bathrooms with handwashing stations. Perfect...

My family has been coming here before I was born. My 70 year old father comes here everyday for his morning sun. The neighborhood taxes went up and I think repairs should go up as well to keep safe...
