Muscle factory in Tempe, Arizona is a gym where you go to train and not just “work out.” When you first walk in, you realize that you’re now in a space of focused athletes who are there with one thing on their mind: progress. The energy is electric, the vibe is contagious. It doesn’t matter if you’re exhausted, having a bad day, or not feeling like training, when you step through the front door that all fades away and you realize it’s time to get the job done.

The large open space is filled with carefully selected pieces from some of the most notable manufacturers from the most recent golden era of bodybuilding. Bodymasters, old-school nautilus, Precor Icarian, Atlantis, Matrix, Life Fitness machines and more line the floors to create the perfect culmination of the best equipment to build your body. The mechanics of these machines are why they are so spectacular; they just FEEL RIGHT.

Everybody who trains at this location has one goal, and that goal is self improvement. Members are respectful of one another, people wear masks and wipe down their equipment, and the staff, especially the owner Lance, are fantastic people. They care about keeping their gym one of the best places to train in Arizona.

I’ve been a member at Muscle Factory in Tempe since October 2020 and from day one it has felt like a second home. Lance has always been solid and genuine, running this gym with respect and integrity for the people who put in the work here.

This place is more than a gym. It’s a culture that pushes you to grow, make progress, and surround yourself with people who are on the same mission. I’ve built lifelong friendships, valuable connections, and it’s also where I started my bodybuilding journey that led me to competing on stage.

At Muscle Factory, respect isn’t about status or who you think you are. Respect is earned here through discipline, hard work, and showing up consistently. Some people misunderstand and come in expecting entitlement, but this gym has never been about ego. It’s about building yourself and raising the standard alongside people who are doing the same. I’ve had my fair share of mistakes at Muscle Factory, but with the guidance, support, and example of the people here, I’ve owned them and learned from them.

Muscle Factory is an amazing gym if you're into lifting weights. They have tons of niche equipment you wouldn't find in commercial gyms. Tsunami bars, safety squat bars, reverse hyper machine, and so much more, it's insane.

At time of writing this review there are 2 flat bench presses, 1 incline, 4 squat racks, 5 deadlift/oly platforms, 2 smith machines, dumbbells up to 150lbs, tons of plated loaded and pin select machines.

There's only 10 or so cardio machines, but I've never seen them all taken at the same time. It's definitely not a focus of the gym.

However, with all this amazing equipment comes a draw back of crowds and lots of influencers. It's pretty common to have to navigate around tripods and see people vlogging. I personally don't mind this too much, but I think it should be known before signing up. Additionally, these crowds mean you'll probably have to wait to get one of the 2 bench presses.

Only other draw back I can think of is lots of lifters are bad at returning plates to trees so you'll probably have to hunt some down throughout your workout.

All in all I can tell the owners are passionate about making the lifting experience as best as possible. I think with time a lot of the cons of the gym will get...
