This museum is such a wonderful experience right from the start. The hosts greeted us with warmth and kindness. We paid cash for entry (must be exact), they also take credit. Upon entering, we watched a short video on NJ related aviation history - I was surprised to find out how much New Jersey was featured in the earliest years of aviation.

The people who volunteer here are sweet guys who have tons of expertise and knowledge. They were very kind and patient with my children and I would say it is very clear which things the children can touch (hands on flight simulators) and which are off limits. While the children are playing, there is plenty to read about for those interested. They also had a real plane for us to go into and on 6 different days of the year, they have open cockpit days to climb inside most of them. The outside courtyard full of planes was really cool.

I loved how this museum highlights accomplished women in aviation as well as the famous red tails/ Tuskegee airmen. There was so much to celebrate and...

Small. Stuffed to the brim with artifacts, like a hundreds plane models. Several aircrafts and old model trucks outside, most accessible for climbing to some degree. Lots to read and watch (monitors). Several flight simulator games, demonstration contraptions. Some do not work ideally. Those are great for up to ~10 y.o. or so. May climb in balloon gondola, small plane cabin, etc. Can touch pretty much everything :-) Some things are exclusive. Others are forgotten, but worthy attention. Covers planes, jets, helicopters, zeppelins, balloons, hovercraft, rockets, un-manned crafts, experimental machines, WW2 facts and memorabilia, airport history, satellites, astronauts... We had to go back to cover it all. They don't even mention this, but there is membership, as $35 for a family for a year - makes sense ONLY if you live nearby: I can not imagine making a second trip just for the museum. But to stop by ($8/$6child/senior) - it's A MUST, I tell you!

There is a library on aviation stuff and old books/magasins sale $1...

My husband brought me here for a date because he knows how much I love aviation and it was awesome! The staff are really sweet and fun to talk to, the museum is really worthwhile to visit, especially for kids, because there are many kid-friendly interactive displays for educational learning. There's a lot of information about the history of women aviators, which I found very inspiring and motivational. The Hall of Fame has amazing, legendary stories that people should really learn about (Do make a reservation on their website before coming in). Also the restrooms are nice and clean. The gift shop has some pretty cool stuff, including collector plane models and aeroplane jewellery, keychains, etc.
